Some years ago I was staying in the Sinai desert with bedouins near St.Catherine.
I awoke in the middle of the night with an urge to go outside my little hut.
The night sky was black like silk and the stars shined acrossed the sky like jewels and it felt like I was wrapped in a heavenly blanket.
The mountains around me pulsated a dark purple and blue color and did not seem solid but like living gentle giants.
I sat under a small tree on a bench in quiet meditation with these sacred surroundings when all of a sudden in the distance a prayer call from a mosque started floating through the air and into my being. The prayer touched the depth of my soul and was unlike any I had encountered before.
It filled me with reverence and gratitude and it is a moment I will cherish in my heart for a long time.

My what an enchanting story, Lord Heinz. Certainly there is something special about the way the call to prayer (athan) echo's off the mountains of the desert and enraptures the soul.
I remember the first time I ever heard the call to prayer, and this story is less than remarkable. For I heard it in a very plain mosque, in a very plain American city. It was my first trip to the mosque back in the year 2,000 AD (Shawwal 1420). There was quiet chatter about the mosque, as I imagined every eye were on me, viewing my every mistake (when in reality little attention was being paid to me). When suddenly, at the strike of 1:00 pm, a man got up to the front of the mosque and all things fell silent. In complete and utter seriousness he cried out with the whole of his being, "ALLLLAAAAHHUUUU AKBAR.... ASHADU AN LA ILAHA ILALLAH!!!!).....
...with every fiber in my being I had to restrain myself from breaking out in the most extreme laughter and hilarity! The words sounded so bizzare to me, but yet were said with such a grave seriousness.... I could barely contain myself.
Later I would come to know the meaning of those words and of course perform it many times myself. And it's now funny to look back upon my first experience in hearing them.

How is Judaism a race?

jewish ideology goes; to be of the jewish race, ur mother has to be jew by blood. if ur not familiar with these beliefs, go ask your local rabbi. hitler tried exterminating us based on genetic distinctions. the original jew has the bloodline of judea, just like all the prophets from the old testament.....nowadays, theres a ganga white, european, ashkenazi jews who's blood has been mixed and watered down, so the jewish race is not nearly as prevalent as the religion.
as far as official definition, the US supreme court ruled that jews are a race in the 80's...

My mother (rest in peace) was a sephardic jew. Her parents escaped to the US during WW2 with the help of a german soldier.
His name was Heinz and he is the reason for me having my name. A name I am proud to hold.
My second name is Ephraim and as you know a traditional jewish one.
My children wont carry my family's jewish lineage further since I married a gypsy woman.
My parents were saddened by this at first but they came to accept our union as sacred.
I do share with the children from my religion (Judaism) and also the history of our family.
And my wife shares with them in her way.
So far they shine bright.
