But when you're an inside man to the powers that be in the two biggest Hip Hop conspiracy murders, only to the public are you "useless".

But in his defense, Diddy always cared about owning the label more so than being a rapper. He just makes songs to stay relevant today.

agreed

i could care less if he did anything to either of those guys though

im just answering purely from a listeners perspective

and youre right, diddy was more about owning the label, but hes put himself out there as an artist too much for me to overlook

Yeah. He's absolutely worthless as an artist. But I'll still take his contributions a billion times over DJ Drama just talking shit, fucking up mixtapes and DJ Khaled. How those people make money literally angers me.

If Biggie hadn't died, Puffy only releases one album and Biggie goes one to be the headliner of Bad Boy, with Ma$e and the Lox as the secondary acts. So I ain't tripping off Puffy, he was doing what he does. The headphones don't surprise me. Nothing about that was surprising or depressing, except Outkast. Snoop and Nas were too real for the Grammys. Grammys are for Kanye West.

And Puffy did some of the production. He also made the call to have Biggie rap over the Juicy beat when even Biggie didn't want to.

By far. As far as Puffy the artist goes, I never thought he was nearly as bad as people made him out to be (at least in his hey-day).

B.G. Knoccout and Dre'sta wrote that whole song if I'm not mistaken

Not from me. Eazy was so weak. Snoop too.

They're the OG versions of Game, letting production carry them the entire way through & just know the right way to ride it...well read someone else's lyrics on how to ride it.

You might be right. But he is credited with writing credits for that song and It's On on that EP. Those were the only songs he was credited with. Not sure if he wrote all of his lyrics, or just put input to them. But he did get some credit for those songs. Also Boyz n tha Hood (G-Mix) but we all know Cube wrote that. So take Eazy's writing credit with a grain of salt.

it's called personality, mic presence, flow, delivery, voice control, passion, charm etc......personally, i could never sit through an entire joe budden album, because i much rather hear some simple shit with personality and meaning than some great lyrics with monotone ass flows...if i want great lyrics, ill watch rap battles on youtube....i want shit that slaps, sounds good, rappers who mean what they say, who can rock a mic wit their energy, not just big words that sounds like it's being read off a paper....and that is why eazy-e >>>>>>>>>> joe budden

Gotta agree with this. I mean, call a rapper out for getting help all you want, but at the end of the day there's a lot more than just lyrics. I'd much rather listen to an average/slightly below lyricist like Game than some some lyrical guy that lacks mic-presence and all that.

Neither, really. But, from what Cube had to say, obviously Eazy struggled in the booth. Not sure if his whole career was like that, but at least up front. I've never heard a story about Puff like that.

eazy-e is way better as a rapper, u jokin? maybe he struggled with technicalities in the early years, but his presence, flow, charisma shits on anything puffy ever had to offer. it's not even close, really.

Absolutely not. The top dollar production & flow along with making it catchy for extra appeal is what the mainstream is all about.

Lyrically they suck...just like Eazy...but Eazy had some classic West Coast production & is considered a legend...so he gets a pass. Meek Mill is more lyrical than Eazy-E; it's just not "cool" to hate on Eazy.

I think it was Dre and Cube that really showed Eazy how to use his voice. His personality just came out. The difference I see with his Kids is that they're not working with top notch legends like Dre and Cube.

LIL EAZY N E3 ARE DOPE, MAYBE EVEN DOPER THAN EAZY LYRICALLY...BUT THEY DONT HAVE ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THE SAME CHARISMA AND PRESENCE...DONT MATTER WHERE EAZY WAS TAUGHT IT FROM, HE GOT IT DOWN AND THATS MORE THAN U CAN SAY FOR MOST RAPPERS. You're a Basketball guy. Some of those Street Ballers are better than many NBA players. But, they don't have right people around them to take those raw skills and turn them into Pro-Level athletes. You can say the same for any artist that is good lyrically, but lacks the rest of the foundation. I can say Eazy was a good student, but I can't say that he was truly skilled.

Eazy is considered a top five West legend all-time; of course his work will be held in MUCH higher regard.

I'm not even really trying to say that today's mainstream is so much better than him...or better than him at all for that matter. I'm just saying, for someone who just pretty much said just coasting over INCREDIBLE production is better than absolute pure lyricism with less "catch" in the flow, you'd think you'd feel a few mainstream acts.

I guess today just isn't gangsta enough for your triple-OG ass.

he doesnt just coast through incredible production, tho...thats what u dont get. ud be amazed at how much harder it is to flow with that sorta energy and passion on cue than to sit down and write some lyrical shit and just read it off the paper in rhythm, real spit.

and i do feel some mainstream shit, as long as it's that real shit.. but nowhere close 2 as much as eazy
