Title: MMLP VS. Trap Muzik
Post by: Blood$ on December 15, 2013, 09:10:58 PM
which was the better overall album, had the better songs, left more of an impact on the game, etc.?

I grew up on MMLP so I have to go with that album off the rip but Trap Muzik was good too, arguably a Southern classic 8)

nothing tis ever done can honestly be put against stan.

thats one of those songs thats so powerful it can convert people into fans of the genre and could make skeptics believers and he created a timeless phrase

i feel like even though he didnt coin it TI is responsible for popularizing the term trap and thats a bigger accomplishment then alot of ppl realize until you consider how far traps gone.

its world wide now and DJS are touring and are spinning trap non stop but if you think its the trap music that this album contained its not its more like a cross between jungle, trance and trap...they throw some triple timed 808s and some synth chords at you but that music is not for the hood cats its just another example of white america putting its spin on something and ruining it like jazz music

imo i feel like this is why the drill scene in the midwest is starting to thrive similar vibes as trap just put down a little bit differently differnet staple drum sounds and shit where as trap was always more of an 808s kind of affair

name a song on trap music that was as timeless and genre defining as stan was.

trap music was very very consistent though...it could be played all the way through it just cant compare to how compelling songs like the urgency in kill you is or the narrative of stan.

toomp was as important to trap music as dre was to mmlp.

I hated "Trap Muzik", it never lived up to it's hype.  I still don't like that shit to this day.  I even tried listening to it not too long before I got locked up earlier this year.  Just never dug it

There are some classics on there, like "24", "Let's Get Away", and I guess you'd could say "Rubberband Man".  I knew I used to rock rubberbands, but waaay before T.I. ever put out the song.  I think that's why he put it out in tha firstplace.  Niggaz used to rock rubberbands for a fashion statement and/or good luck/hope.  "Urband Legend" was the shit tho and it still is.  "Urban Legend" is T.I.'s BEST work.  Everything about that album (mostly) was the shit.

From the Production to tha bars.

all this because he put out a better album then TI this year. i dont think theres any fucking rapper in the game TI respects more then eminem thats including jay z and thats on some real shit. your hating from a purely stan type perspective (no pun intended) and its hard to respect my dude. im trying to be peaceful but bullshit is bullshit no matter what time of the year it is. they are antagonizing you by making eminem vs ti threads. i imagine if they put him up against nas or jay or scarface youd probably hate on them ruthlessly too.
