he looks like a dictator on this pic. My history lecturers always told me that the Us was the first democracy in the world. I think they're wrong. The US is just another theocracy.

what are the capitol buildings in D.C. modeled after? makes you think doesn't it

there was no democracy in ancient greece/rome/whatever. get some knowledge.

i'm a proud american but you're giving us credit where it's not due ...democracy wasn't created in america

Greece had democracy. Not Sparta, no. But at times, Athens, etc, had it.

And Rome? The Republic was a democracy. OH GOD PLEASE how do you not know that? Marius was an ELECTED consul.

Yes, not everyone could vote, but nowadays, not everyone can vote.

that ain't the topic. as i said, I think that my lecturers, who told me that the us was the first "real" democracy, are wrong.
