Sounds like just a random studio recording.  This would have been a confusing intro for Murder Was The Case soundtrack.

And yet, just two years later, Dre was appearing on traccs with Nas dissing the Eastcoast-Westcoast beef.  What a tumultuous and pivotal couple years in Dre's professional life.
