Title: Bone Thugs - New Waves (Discussion Thread)
Post by: ILoveQSeven on May 29, 2017, 04:37:52 PM
(http://www.audiocastle2.info/uploads/news/bone_thugs_new_waves_680x680_390_268.jpg)

Back in March, it has been announced that the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony group lineage is in the hands of Bizzy Bone and Krayzie Bone. The two are now set to release new music as Bone Thugs, with summer 2017’s New Waves becoming the first isolated project between the two 25-year collaborators.
New Waves is set to hit stores everywhere June 23rd. It will be a different perspective of the same Bone Thugs sound we fell in love with in late 90s. In the meantime, the tracklist for the project surfaced on the web.

The fifteen track project will feature Stephen Marley, Yelawolf, Jazze Pha, Bun B, Tank, Uncle Murda, Rico Love and more. Peep the full tracklisting below.

1. Coming Home (Ft. Stephen Marley)
2. If Heaven Had A Cellphone (Ft. Tank)
3. Good Person (Ft. Joelle James)
4. Fantasy (Ft. Jesse Rankins)
5. That Girl (Ft. Kaci Brown))
6. Let It All Out (Ft. Jazze Pha)
7. Waves (Ft. Layzie Bone, Wish Bone & Flesh-n-Bone)
8. Whatever Comes Up (Ft. Jonathan Davis of KORN)
9. Cocaine Love (Ft. Bun B & Jesse Rankins)
10. Bad Dream (Ft. IYAZ)
11. Gravity (Ft. Yelawolf)
12. Bottleservice
13. Change The Story (Ft. Uncle Murda)
14. Ruthless (Ft. Layzie Bone, Flesh-n-Bone & Eric Bellinger)
15. Don’t Let Go (Ft. Rico Love)

Not bad....these guys are always trying to find the next "Crossroads".

Wish they'd just stay true to their roots, seems like ever since Crossroads blew up, the been trying to make clones of the song in attempts to have another big hit (If I Could Teach The World, Change The World, etc, etc).

A few songs like this on the album is fine, but hopefully they come with that hardcore Thuggish Bone sound too.

I skimmed the album last night, a few songs sounded amazing and few were sounding kinda cringeworthy from what I heard but I won't rate the album until I play it completely lol

That's why this group is called Bone Thugs and not Bone Thugs-N-Hamony, they explained it on a couple interviews

that's a katy perry joint wit bone thugs on it .. no way around it
if you read what I said before . then you would have heard me say Bottleservice & My Way (feat. DB Bantino) that were both wack and worst songs on the album.  no bottleservice does not sound like katy perry joint wit bone thugs on it . bottle service sounds pop techno .
there is only 2 bad songs on this album and the rest is dope

that's cool that u feel that way bruh .. to me, the whole album had this sound, give or take
it is fact the whole album does not have the same sound as bottleservice at all and blood will tell you that .  you sound like you have not listen to the whole album

listened to the whole album front to back with my girl and we both laughed the whole way through .. bottle service was a single, so it's clearly the sound they were going for. "new waves" meaning new sound .. duno what setting u heard it in, but it all sounded sappy to me
it is fact bottleservice was not a single and you are fool of shit .  . I heard in my top notch stereo in my car and it was dope ,   you and your girl most not know good music . none of it in fact sound sappy ,  it still sounds like you did not listen to album all the way threw or with open ears

i guess this is vintage bone thugs:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XkVQvV_7j54

nothing pop about this (another single):
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sMKyI-Nbw0I

absolutely nothing katy perryesque about this hard ass chorus:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LKa139wdkMY

nothing like the spice girls:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xfAUWPn30Zc

i wonder if this sounds like bruno mars:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DO0vhkXLZGA

bone thugs goin hard:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ebiMFVA2BAc

i tried to be cool wit u and chalk it up as differences in taste.. but if u really don't see the difference between these songs and vintage bone thugs, somethin is wrong wit u playboy

and tbh, i gave it another shot last night .. a couple joints were passable, comin home, heaven had a cellphone, new waves, cocaine love, and the joint wit yelawolf. not bad. but the majority is still pop, and THATS A FACT

I really did want to love this album as a whole because it's Bone but even the tracks that I dig aren't enough for me to justify letting the rest ride lol I get it they want to go into a different direction and have more "positive" tunes but this ain't the sound I want from them personally as far as those pop/techno sounding cuts

This album is dope. Really digging track 1 and the bonus track.  Waves, and bottle service are dope too

Since I haven't listened to bone in like 10 years, do they have any other releases similar to this one? Or worth checking out?

Expected something tighter and would have been nice If the album was a bit darker but hence the tittle "New Waves" so I guess that shows what they're going for. BTW that track "Bottle Service" is a banger for what it is. I snook it in a on a Dance/EDM set I played in a club and the crowd loved it, several people came up to me and asked where that song came from.
