Mid-late 80's rap reminds me of growing up in North Hollywood.  Loved it.  My parents moved me out in 88, hated to leave.

I've been to LA a few times in the past year and a half, and it always made me smile and nod my head when I heard west-coast rap blasting out of people's car stereos or shop fronts just walking down the street.  I specifically remember hearing 'Midnight Love' by Snoop, 'In California' by Daz and 'Gangstas Make The World Go Round' by Westside Connection in different parts of the city.

L.A the only place where they play Zapp catalog in a bbq at the Marina on 4th July .
