Title: Comic Book Cartoon Movies
Post by: CharlieBrown on February 20, 2018, 12:29:30 PM
What comics do you want to see get made into a feature length cartoon?

Now that Batman Year 1, The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns are out, hopefully they'll release more cartoons aimed at the 'mature' audience.

Personally I'd like to see The Dark Knight Strikes Again and The Master Race come out as far as Batman goes.

As for Superman I'd like to see Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? And Legend of the Green Flame. As they're both short, it would be cool for a double feature.

I wouldn't mind a Sandman Overture cartoon, but I found the rest of the series a bit hit & miss.

Frank Millers Robocop Vs Terminator would have been cool in the late 80's as a live action feature. Although I'd have gone with a different ending - sending a Arnie back to the beginning of The Terminator (so, forever stuck in that loop).

I know there were Spawn cartoons, but there hard to get a hold of over here. If they followed the original comics and they released them unedited in Europe, that'd be cool. Are they different storylines?

An Elektra or Daredevil movie would be good, if they followed the Frank Miller stories. Hard Boiled & Ronin would be cool too.

It would be MINDBLOWIN' if Alan Moore oversaw a 3D cartoon of Twilight of the Superheroes. Hopefully, one day, someone will pay him enough to do it (without any involvement from DC). You could buy it from China/bootleggers or something?

Parts of the abandoned JLA: Mortal movie, which was to be directed by George Miller (Mad Max/Road Warrior) have apparently been turned into the cartoon movie Justice League: Doom. Could be (more) interesting (than a usual DC cartoon).

I haven't seen Justice League Dark yet, but I doubt it's as good as Swamp Thing or Constantine comics. Bt if they got a talented British (possibly ex-pat) writer to do it, it could work.

Crisis on Infinite Earths would be nice as a movie too.

A faithful adaption of V for Vendetta would be nice, and make up for what the Wachowski's did to the comic.

Given how shit Snyder was to Watchmen, a faithful cartoon movie would also be cool.
