1st day cop absolutely. Snoop has a pattern for every ego trippin and malice he drops a blue carpet/cool aid level dope album. His last couple were weak so this should be good. I have a good feeling about it.

It'll be garbage. Snoop albums now have a couple of decent tracks but as a complete project it just isn't enough to make me part with my money. Some of the production sounds ok

he was probably drunk when he posted that and doesn’t even remember making it, considering he didn’t even check back for replies.

nima has one post damn near this entire decade .. he ain’t got no love for the dub like that homie. this forum was nothin more than a tool for him to get outa germany so he can live his cali dreams.

It sounds like its coming outta "Tha Last Meal" album or any eastsidaz album. Song Made me travel to early 2000's doggystyle era.

Loved it. Im HYPED!!!

Snooo is doing a huge thing. He is doing an album with zero business concern. He is just bringing real west coast hiphop instead making something mainstream with trap/autotune/mumble shit full of commercial stuff. We all need to respect for this brave step. He did it in 2019. He did that.

Album sounds good so far, my only concern is it appears to be 22 songs and sometimes Snoop albums get a little too bloated, but it is what it is. And hoping there will be an actual CD for the collection!

Aw, good question. I looked the album up on Amazon, hoping to find a CD release date, but only found the digital version. However, they have a tracklist posted and available for pre-order with the three singles along with a bunch of placeholder tracks totaling 22 songs. Bygones is listed as track 3, Countdown as 5, and I Wanna Thank Me as 22:

There's 22 songs on the album. I'm sure Snoop put some bullshit on the album too. So far all of the songs have been good though.

The album is shaping up nicely, I just hope that the snippet of that Jermaine Dupri track doesn't materialise on the album because it doesn't sound good at all.

Hopefully the album is a bit more consistent than Neva Left too, because it felt like more of a compilation than an actual album, what with the inclusion of two or three old tracks.  I felt the mixing could have been a bit more polished on the album as well.

Snoop has a song with Chris Brown on the album and apparently Chris Brown shared a snippet of it on his Instagram, but deleted it.

I found it from Youtube though.

I like Neva Left, it was his first good album in years, but paradoxically it felt really low budget.  Snoop albums always had this sound like they were the biggest rap album of the year (I'm not saying "best"), but lately his work has sounded really unpolished.  It's weird, because he has enough money still to make really "big" albums.  A lot of this stuff sounds like rough drafts or proofs of concept rather than actual real songs.  Go listen to R&G or Blue Carpet Treatment or even the one after that when he started falling off and there was consistently this big budget studio album feel that isn't there anymore.

Slick Rick feature? That's dope. Snoop finally over a DJ Mustard beat? I can't wait to hear that song. I see the song with Chris Brown ended up on this. Why do I have a feelin' that this album is gonna be about 50% of dope music and the rest is gonna be soundin' similar to everything that comes out these days in 2019?

Here's the song with Rick Rock.

Is it so hard to sit down with your mentor and create something worth listening to? you got 1500 or Nothin, Fredwreck, Terrace Martin and Dr.Dre on your side and you are unable to put together a great album? Even the writing is weird,Get Soopafly & DOC... Sad if you ask me.

Why do you assume that that is his goal with this album? He could make an album of him making barking noises if he wanted. Thats his prerogative.

There really is a massive delusion on this board. It's like when we see a post of Dre, a picture of himself with [insert artist/producer here] and prople ASSUME that he is doing it for THEIR benefit. It amazes me how little people understand the music business on here.

A bunch of wankers who think they are entitled to everything an artist does. At the end of the day Snoop doesn't give a fick about what anyone thinks of what he puts out. He will put out what he WANTS to put out.

They release the music they WANT to release. Not what they think a 0.01% of the fan base on the internet want. People are so deluded thinking that their opinions on an internet forum influence an artist. What you think Snoop is going to read comments like yours and think "Oh shit, better leave that one off the finished product"?

The majority of posters on this forum need to educate themselves on the music industry. Its fucking embarrassing. No wonder this place is dying.

You're moronic as well. You say it isn't a good time to work with Dre but offer no reasoning.

Honestly, does anyone know anything about the industry on this forum? Beats aren't everything. Artists work to improve themselves, do what makes them happy, and work with whoever the fuck they want. If Snoop put The Spice Girls, Sheryl Crow & William fucking Shatter on the album it would be because he wanted to. The days of an artist bursting their arse to be relevant and sell records are long gone. People are cummimg in their pants at the fucking dregs of talent. What's the point?

Especially for an artist like Snoop who is near30 years in the business. They do it because they enjoy it. They'll do what they like when they like. But no, people on here expect things from artists because theyre stuck in the past and want a new album so they can wank themselves stupid to memories.

Anyway the point of this was in regards to your post that you made about the Nate feature and complained no one cared because they never replied to you within a few hours. What you want people to praise and thank you for a bit of info? It's no wonder I hear artist laugh about posters on this forum.

Sad.

u half right

dre wanted a rap album from paak, which resulted in oxnard .. he still oversaw and mixed ventura, so you’re off on that front. but for an wrist like jayo, dre would be ideal.

When we first listened to Oxnard, me and my friends were all agreed on how much dre limited paak's potential. Normally what dre does is to boost potential of an artist. It didnt work with Oxnard and Paak. So just in a year Paak asked dre to put another album with his own decisions. And ventura came out. Result shows us Dre and Paak are not suitable to each other musically.

If you talk about business, alright dre is a monster about it. He is even the best business man in musicians world.

What i mean is musical. Yes dre is still the best on board and mixing mastering. But he is no longer succesful on guiding Em, Kendrick, Paak in musically. Relapse was really good album but it was already out of age for that moment. So Em looked for something new and different. Dre couldnt make that change possible for him so Em went to new producers like boi-1da, rick rubin...

For snoop, im not sure if dre would be a good choice to make beats make music and executive produce the album in 2019. Dre needs another challange for his career. Compton was good but just good, it was not enough and it wasnt sucesful. Kendrick and Em are absolutely refusing dre beats, its a fact, Oxnard was also a challange for dre and he fucked it up one more time. He needs to decide now, he will go an taking photos with artists like they are tourists and dre is a holly statue or he will change the game again with a solo and rest will follow his lead next 10 years.

Im a huge Dre fan. No offence please.

No offence please.

it was already agreed upon beforehand that paak would put out 2 albums that year.. one rap album and one traditional soul album. naturally, the soul album was better.

as for kendrick, theres a reason he doesn’t have a chronic, doggystyle, or even mmlp to his name. its due to his insistence on doin albums with his own crew. and dre is still behind the boards mixing and overseeing, he simply isnt as hands on as he was in his prime.

i actually think if kendrick submitted to dre and allowed him to guide him 100%, we would get that definitive classic that’s missing from his catalogue.

eminem is a terrible example .. it’s pretty much universally accepted that eminem fell off big time once he left dre’s corner.

as for compton, the music itself was phenomenal.. the problem wit compton is that it was never promoted. it still went platinum off dre’s name alone, but they never even so much as filmed a music video from that album .. and that was the project that pretty much launched paak, so as much as dre treated it like a side project for the movie, it’ll always have that.

bottom line, has dre fallen back? of course.. is he incapable of leading the way? absolutely not.

dre is not in his prime, but he’s fully capable of overseeing a great project. we saw it with compton, and even tho oxnard was a disappointment, it was still a dope album overall.

i think its impossible to change  or revolutionize the game these days. Everything is disposable, people listen one time with bad quality (often) and looking for the next one and the next one... No time to be focus on a track or an album for weeks, its going fast. They don't listen, they want sound to play in the background.

Im pretty sure even a classic album is impossible with an impact on the culture.

COMPTON is actually similar to that first Aftermath compilation. Not a bad effort but kinda forgettable. As for Kendrick, To Pimp a Butterfly is a classic HipHop masterpiece.

I agree almost all. To me aftermath compilation was better. There were memorable songs, ec wc killas, blunt time, been there done that, str8gone, nationowl, fame...

Compton was not special. Dre even pretends its someone else's album who is called dr. Dre same as him. He looks regretful to release it.

lol now u just makin stuff up

it served as a soundtrack to the movie .. was pretty much a promotional tool in itself. they decided a promotional tool doesn’t need its own promo.

10 tracks in and I'm feeling this!

With 22 tracks, I'm expecting few fillers but so far good work.

At this stage in Snoop's career and with little or no big label push, he delivered a good one.

For a weird reason after all the Battlecat produced songs, hearing JD is refreshing and Snoop rode that beat with flow effortlessly! He should do more dope songs with JD.

will do final review tomorrow

liar? :) let me teach you something boy, your sentence is incorrect, you should say "i don't agree with him" :) how long did it take you to start talking? when you were 10? how old are you now? 11?

anyway, autotuned snoop is not bad on nate track, but it could only be used for bridge, i would like to hear a rap verse on that beat also. but im not annoyed, so you are a liar!!! hahaha.

Plenty of these around, just not coming from Grandpa Snoop. Album was average to me because I've long outgrown Snoop Dogg, but I can see why it sounds like it does. Snoop paid dues to his own self through all the eras and transformations he's been through (the cover should have been a hint enough for you)...........90s LBC Snoop, early to mid 2000s 213-era Snoop, 2006 Hyphy sounding Snoop, late 2000s laid back Snoop, mainstream radio hits Snoop, current age trap stuff Snoop. It is all in there.

Overall 6.5/10 album, no surprises at this stage in his career.

Come on now, plenty people dropped much better albums this year. Unless you mean specifically Westcoast G-funk

As a side note, $tupid Young seems to be on a steady come up, from a joint with Mozzy a while back to being featured on both E-40's and Snoop's albums in the same year

After listening to the full album a couple of times, as expect with 22 tracks there are some fillers.

The swizz beat track - Rise to the top (Snoop & Swizz don't have chemistry. Battlecat involvement made Countdown good)
The rick rock track was not for me, sounds like same old Rick rock beat, not for me.
The lil duval song, should be on lil duval album not for me.
Lil Square, erm not for me.

That's the fillers out of the way, I totally enjoyed the rest and like others decided to make my own album on Spotify.
It's 2019 no need to moan about fillers when I don't have to listen to them.

Here's a link to my version, for anyone interested

https://open.spotify.com/user/geezy2real/playlist/3bTMpj5HzdqbX4FT9Sbmrx?si=huvwYRQDRyel5AR3CAF5LA

I like a lot of songs, not sure of my favourites yet.
Let bygones be bygones - pretty good and real
One blood, one cuzz - Pretty good and real
What u talking about - good flow good beat
Winter in June - Love the sing along style Snoop went with, it allow Nate Dogg's vocals to shine properly on the song
I wanna thank me - classic Battlecat & Snoop collaboration

So misinformed - Impressed with the collaboration and the deep knowledge they kick

Countdown - been on my playlist since it dropped, I'm over the Swizz Beat involvement now.

Blue Face Hunnids & Ventilation - New age style with youngins but Snoop kept his style and ride the tracks well 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Do it when Im in it - I might be the only one who really like this! Snoop perfect for this JD beat, the features did their thing, I like Snoop over JD beats since Welcome to Atlanta.

Focused & First Place - This is the kind of Snoop's track I can listen to anyday! Dope beats, dope flow/delivery, 2 of my favourites.

Take me away - The token weed song, pretty laid back and weed heads will like it.

Turn me on feat Chris Brown - Sounds like a early 2000 radio hit.

Good album for me, happy Snoop can still be bothered to put these body of work together in 2019.

4/5 for me.

Although today we are able to switch things around and decide what we like off an album, I still believe that If I have to do my own playlist off your album, it means that you cannot put an album together anymore. Snoop got a full project with Dave East and unreleased songs with legends like MJ, but still manage to put out mixed bags.

I feel like this album has better singles than Neva Left but Neva Left is more cohesive because it had less tracks and filler. But Snoop sounds invigorated on this. Best lyrically since BCT on these last 2 albums

1. What U Talkin’ Bout - 8/10 THE DOGG IS BACC! What a strong way to start the album. You gotta turn this one up, Beat slaps and Snoop is aggressive

2. So Misinformed 9/10 Glad to see a dope feature like this. Snoop and Slick Rick with a Bob Marley sample? Would be very sad if this song was bad, luckily its not bad, not bad at all. In fact it gets better every time I listen to it. The guitar on here is sicck as fuck. Strong production. I just wish we actually got a verse from Slick Rick.

3. Let Bygones Be Bygones - 9.5/10 Very impactful track. Just what he's talking about on this song will make you feel this track. Snoop reminiscing on Death Row days and his relationship with Suge Knight. Has that OG G-Funk sound to it with the synths and the pitch change, Piano.

4. One Blood, One Cuzz 10/10 Probably my favorite track on the album. Has that OG Snoop sound to it. Makes me want to bust a nut to this shit. This track definitely makes me cum in my pants every time. Shit just slaps so fucking hard. If the album had all tracks on this caliber we'd have another classic but we just have to be thankful Snoop still gives us tracks on this level. THANK YOU BATTLECAT!!!! BC POWDA A LEGEND!!!!

5. Countdown 9.5/10 - MORE G FUNK SHIT. At this point in the album IM THRILLED, If it only carried itself the rest of the way at this pace. Beat is a banger and Snoop is invigorated on this. I believe Snoop has it in him to make another classic if he had the right people behind him.

6. I C Your Bullshit - 4/10 First major disappointment just not feeling this one too much right now but I wouldnt be surprised if this one was a grower

7. Turn Me On f. Chris Brown 7/10 A nice upbeat track for the clubs and the radio, Chris Brown does his job on this track and so does Snoop. Think along the lines of "Beautiful"

8. Blue Face Hunnids 5/10 - Expected more from a Mustard beat but I guess its ok. YG is forgettable, Another skippable track

9. New Booty 6.5/10 - not a bad track just a bit forgettable

10. Take Me Away 8/10 - SOLID KUSH SMOKING SONG, ILL BE SPARKING UP TO THIS ONE FOR YEARS TO COME, NICE HYPNOTIC MELODIC BEAT

11. Do It When I’m In It 6.5/10 Another upbeat track meant for the clubs and radio. Not a bad effort but not the Snoop most people are looking for. Beat can get a bit repetitive.

12. First Place 9/10 One of the better tracks on the album. Beat is so dope. Old school Hollywood type shit. The strings and the Saxophone ohhhh man this is nice. Frank Sinatra feat Snoop Doggy Dogg shit. In fact it would have been dope if there were some Sinatra vocals on this. I'll be cruising through Hollywood blowing big dank to this. This should have been on the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood soundtrack.

13. Focused 8/10 Beat is not my favorite but Snoop rips the fuck out of this track and brings the rating higher. Beat might be a grower

14. Rise To the Top 5/10 Swizz beats ruins this shit that fucking tool

15. Wintertime in June  8.5/10 not the usual nate dogg classic we're accustomed to but still like a breath of fresh air to hear new Nate vocals

16. Doo Wop Thank Me  - 10/10 this shit is dope as fuck lol love this old school sam cooke like doo wop

17. Main Phone - 7/10 this beat is actually pretty funky, some bay area shit, he should have had e-40 and too short on this one.

18. Do You Like I Do - 5.5/10 lol this is some boyz ii men mo town philly shit, throwback beat, 90s heads will appreciate this one even if its not your favorite

19. I’ve Been Looking For You 9/10 - This track is so smooth, beat is on point and so is Snoop. One of my favorites on the album. Great track to blaze one to. Lake show reference.

20. Little Square UBitchU - 5/10 lol Snoop is funny man, all the voices he does and different characters, ill admit though this is one of the weakest tracks on the album, could have easily been left off but its a dance track, i see what hes trying to do here

21. Ventalation - 6/10 this track actually isnt bad dont know why people were hating on this track, yeah the other dudes on the track arent anything special but Snoop brings it and the beat is cool

22. I Wanna Thank Me  - 7.5/10 Solid Snoop, strong way to close out the album. The organ on this beat is so dope

Overall I'm very happy with this album. This is better than half of Snoop's albums and to get it this late in his career is a true gift and a blessing.

I'd put it around R&G level maybe even better if it gets better with time. Not as good as Blue Carpet Treatment for sure, a step behind.

It’s called an opinion pal. You can think it’s trash and I can think it’s gold and we can still be talking about the same album. I’ve learned to appreciate new music instead of expecting another doggystyle or last meal. I remember I dismissed Compton after giving it a quick spin. I tried listening again this year and actually enjoyed it for what it is.

Just listened to the album as well, don't know how to feel yet. Feels like another bag of standout tracks mixed with some below average tracks as usual. He's got the talent, feel, musical knowledge and love for music to still put out some great work, but some of his stuff just feels half-assed sometimes, which it basically is. I know he's doing a hundred things at the same time and doing his own thing with his music, but I can't help but wonder what a properly produced Snoop project, maybe following a theme for once, with a steady and solid production team could sound like.

However I'm glad he didn't put old ass songs on there, at least from what I know, like he did with some previous albums, such as "Neva Left" or "Malice N Wonderland". He still got the voice and flow to ride the beats, so I won't stop checking out for his music. Knowing he still got it, if he wants to, makes it harder to except some of the weak stuff he seemingly enjoys doing and listening to. Will give it another spin tomorrow. Usually albums really start growing on me with the 2nd or 3rd listen. Already a good sign that I can name a few songs that I instantly liked.

By the way: Is it just me or do his vocals sound kinda strange, more like heavily compressed, on that "I Wanna Thank Me" track? That's a shame since I love that track overall.

young maylay's beats sound very midi and easy. these are beats made by beatmakers. we are talking about professional music production here, songs produced by producers and musicians. you can not compare these 2 albums. im talking according to my ears first, not my logic.

Thats where people fail. NY'ers told same thing to people in Cali. Because they didnt have something wise enough to say about hiphop, so it was easy to say "hey im from NY, hiphop was born here". Black people did same thing to whites. "Hey dude you are not even black, what the fuck do you know bout hiphop". So lets just talk and discuss and please be polite. It doesnt matter where you from, what race you are... respect first.

I've always been respectful and got nothing but love for everyone on here, including now, but that's not the point.

You don't seem to be making the difference between New Yorkers telling people from Cali ''our sound is what hip-hop is, your style is not hip-hop''
and
(for example) people from Turkey telling people from Cali (like Sccit) what Cali rap is or sounds like.

Point is, 1 Up Top Ahk is not a trap album, sounds nothing like a trap album and bears no resemblance whatsoever to trap.

Can you call "The Last Meal" a g-funk album? It had some elements of course, but it had is own vibe which you can certainly call it West Coast HipHop.

Does these new Bc beats sound same like he did in late 90s and early 2000's??? No totally different but when you hear it you know its BC production and its still too West Coast. Its about the tempo, elements and the vibe.

Im not expecting another space boogie from Kurupt. Space Boogie 2 will sound totally different and im so excited to hear it because Fred really upgreaded himself. He became a monster lately. Dont be surprised if he gets grammy with "make it better" of Paak.

Gfunk is only one piece of West Coast hiphop. I was expecting a well mix mastered, west coast banging snoop album, and i got more than i expected with "I wanna thank me". Im totally happy about it. And you know what this type of vibe doesnt sell in this age of music today. Snoop did it with no business concern and i appriciate that.

By the way i didnt say this is cali rap and this is not. I didnt do that. But i can do it, im able to call what west coast hip hop is and what is not. Like you guys can do it. We all can learn things from each other about culture, i learned too much even by just following this forum. You better dont be surprised if one of you guys from cali learn something new from someone from turkey today.  We all studied this culture by listening and reading for year, me for over 20 years for example. Be open minded.

I've got no harsh feelings for you man, hope you enjoy Mozzy's album, but if not - there's plenty other artists around.

Im dying to listen something makes me feel excited. But i cant find lately for years. Even i dont like kendrick's music or i say its not my type so nobody get angry with me :)). I liked only to pimp a butterfly. I'll check Mozzy.

Ok i will give a one more spin to it. I just checked a few songs fast and it was full of trap drums and lofi instruments and thats why it sounded kinda trap and mainstream. I will listen to it when im free again and let you know.

were not talking about the same album

1 up top ahk was well produced and had an overwhelmingly mob music sound to it

5 Things To Expect Pushing Play On Snoop Dogg’s "I Wanna Thank Me" Album

(https://thefader-res.cloudinary.com/private_images/w_1260,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:best/GettyImages-1063576328_dlafyv/snoop-dogg-hollywood-walk-of-fame-acceptance-speech.jpg)

At a ceremony commemorating his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last November, Snoop Dogg concluded his speech with four simple words: “I wanna thank me.”

The moment quickly went viral, showing the enduring charisma of the West Coast legend.

Over the last few years, Snoop has become a pop culture icon. He’s released a cookbook, starred in a TV show alongside Martha Stewart and started his own line of cannabis — to name just a few of his numerous projects. But simultaneously, he’s been devoted to his musical craft and has ventured into new genres like gospel and reggae. His upcoming 17th album, I Wanna Thank Me, is focused on his legacy as he enters his fourth decade in show business.

A listening party for the new album that saw Snoop in good spirits, holding court at his famous Inglewood compound. He answered a wide range of questions from the press and showcased the first part of an upcoming, highly personal documentary about his life that features stars such as Pharrell, Dr. Dre, Diddy and LA Philharmonic conductor Gustavo Dudamel.

Here are the five reasons to give Snoop’s I Wanna Thank Me the time of day.

1. There’s Something For Everyone

This is an eclectic project that checks off a lot of boxes. Want a Latin trap track? He’s teamed up with Ozuna. A sensual song? Snoop’s got you covered. Something to dance to at the club? Chris Brown and YG are here. As a follow-up to last year’s gospel album Bible of Love, it’s also a return to form for the “Gin & Juice” rapper; he resurrects the G-Funk sound (the late Nate Dogg shows up) and tropes of gangsta rap.

Impressively, the album never seems scattered or unfocused. Each song emulates a different style but with confidence and ease. He told DX during the recording process, he listened to a diversity of genres because contemporary rappers no longer inspire him, remarking, “I am not in your lane anymore.”

In regards to current artists he admires, he gave a shout out to R&B singer H.E.R.: “She puts me in the zone to make some music that says something because her music says something.”

2. This Isn’t Just About His Legacy — It’s About Hip Hop’s As Well

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” facet of the legendary artist’s skill set has been a pivotal part of Hip Hop’s commercial climb. At the press conference, Snoop expressed his frustration with how mainstream culture still holds a stigma towards Hip Hop.

He said that although Hip Hop is “the only form of music that connects all walks of life” and that many musicians outside of the culture perpetually steal from the genre, older rappers are thrown in the dustbin of pop culture. With I Wanna Thank Me, Snoop wanted to celebrate the genre’s roots and raise awareness of its history.

Explaining his decision to include turntable sounds, he said it was “taking it back to the element of Hip Hop” where it was just a “DJ and an MC” and hoped to educate people about a Hip Hop that goes beyond current trends like Auto-Tune and monotonous drum patterns. Though I Wanna Thank Me’s title is boastful, the West Coast legend is focused on the bigger picture.

3. He Addresses Death Row’s Notorious History

Anyone familiar with Hip Hop history can tell you Death Row Records has had its fair share of controversies and inner-feuds. It was only fairly recently when Snoop said he’s squashed his beef with the infamous Suge Knight. He brings up the drama on his new album, dedicating a song to Knight and the record label’s broader legacy.

At the listening party, Snoop explained his decision as a way of getting ahead of the petty gossip and lies and honoring not only truth, but also the nuances of a multi-decade relationship.

“I wanted to tell the story in an appropriate way to celebrate the fun times and the love that we had and the things that he [Suge] did that were wrong and the things he did that were right,” he said.

At 47, Snoop is feeling quite reflective and trying to complicate the media narrative of Knight as a public enemy. He discussed Death Row Legacy’s history as similarly complex.

“It wasn’t all bad; it was a beautiful ride — it just got bad when egos and money got involved,” he said. “As far as our friendship, our brotherhood, and or love, we always kept that.”

4. This Is Still Commercial Snoop

Over the course of his career, Tha Doggfather has proven himself to be a shapeshifter by keeping up with the evolving musical landscape.

When making I Wanna Thank Me, Snoop said he envisioned how the songs would sound on stage. Even as he gets more socially conscious in his lyrics and embraces a more soulful sound, he’s still keeping his ear to the ground of what’s trending and wants to continue to make the kind of bangers that made him famous.

5. Nipsey Hussle’s Tragic Death Influenced The Project

Last April, Snoop gave an emotional speech at Nipsey Hussle’s memorial service. Following the L.A. rap star’s death, there was a rare moment of unity between the Crips and Bloods. That potential for mutual understanding is one of the numerous themes on Tha Doggfather’s 17th album.

Snoop explained to the press he hopes this could be a turning point in the culture.

“It’s just a matter of somebody being man enough to say ‘Enough is enough,'” he said. “Now’s the time I’m stepping forward and I am putting peace in the air. Hopefully, you guys will follow and lead by example.’”

I Wanna Thank Me will be available on August 16.

also Butch Cassidy, why dont Snoop let him spit his own shit on the album? Butch comes 2nd after Nate. West should be thankful to still have him alive.

Forum is for decent debates, no need for the childish insults and abuse, if you don't like the album, that's fine, no need to insult people that do enjoy it.

Album been on repeat in my car since yesterday.

What u talkin about, Countdown, One blood, One Cuz, I wanna thank me, Let bygones be bygones, Winter in June, Focused are all proper Westcoast sounding bangers.

Whole album was overseen/produced by Battlecat, don't think it can get more Westcoast than that!

Need to give it a full listen but after skimming through it I wasn’t impressed with the album as a whole. There’s a handful of tracks I liked though which I will bump, which is basically par for the course for most recent Snoop albums for me. Not sure why Snoop chose to auto tune his vocals on the Nate Dogg song. I’m not opposed to auto tune but that song had a dope 60’s soul vibe that is killed by the auto tune when Snoop comes on.

In response to a previous reply that suggested that Snoop can put out what he wants, when he wants - of course that is true, no one is arguing against that.  But at the end of the day this is a forum where we offer opinions and critique albums all the time, so everyone will want or wish for an album from a particular artist to sound a certain way, more out of hope or expectation, I suppose.

And about artists checking out this forum, you would be surprised.  A couple of years ago there was that Tha Doggfather 20th Anniversary compilation that featured some rough drafts and extra tracks recorded around the time that didn't make the cut.  The compilation would not have circulated much beyond this forum and maybe a couple of others.  The main track that everyone was feeling on there was the Battlecat remix to 'The Vapors', and many people here left replies saying how it was the best of the bunch.  And guess which 20+ year old track then appeared on Snoop's next album Neva Left?  Coincidence?

But on the subject of The Vapors remix, I find it funny that the mp3 version that dropped with the compilation is infinitely better than the track that ended up on the album in terms of sound quality.

Kendrick is talkin' about "Neva Left" in that song though. I just listened to it today and man I didn't even remember how much I loved it. There's no songs on it that I dislike. Goin' through "Coolaid" right now and there's a bunch of songs I don't fuck with. After this I'm listenin' to the new album a few times and I'll drop some thoughts about it.

That compilation came from Bomb1st and that remix was uploaded to YouTube. I have a strong feeling that the version they used on that album was actually from YouTube and not from any forum, because we included a WAV rip of that remix with the project and they used a 128kbps mp3 for the album, which falls in line with YouTube audio compression.

It's a dope album, but I guess it's another mixed bag. I love "So Misinformed", "One Blood, One Cuzz", "Let Bygones Be Bygones", "First Place", "Rise To The Top", "Wintertime In June", "I Wanna Thank Me" and they're all kinda mature songs in my opinion, but then you have Snoop on that gangsta shit on some other songs. "Countdown" sounds like somethin' we've done heard a million times already in the past 20 years. "First Place" would've been the perfect song to start the album with, one of the best beats I've heard from DJ Green Lantern. Snoop talkin' about the past and goin' forward with his life. "Main Phone" and "Ventalation" are both bangers too. The song with Chris Brown is trash. I'm not really fuckin' with the Mustard song either. I had too much expectations for that one. It's not a bad song, but it's not that special either. Snoop should've worked with YG and Mustard back when "My Krazy Life" dropped. "I C Your Bullshit" is one of the worst songs I've ever heard from Snoop though. Overall, it is a good album. Gotta listen to it a bit more.

I like I C Your Bullshit with the scratching and old school vibe. I could do without the intro and outro, though.

Most artists seem to charge $10 with a download for the CD version on their own sites these days.

It’s time to retire. Snoop is done. He a DJ now? He must hate being home.  He has enough money to live right. He should of been more business wise and used his star power to make big chips like Dre,jay z, puffy, cube, etc. I’m a huge snoop fan since I was 10 years old I’m 36 now but it’s time to toss the towel in.

I know he’s rich it’s just time to toss the towel in. I mean as business investments we’re he could spend his time in that. I know he don’t dj for free? Like Dre had beats, jay z I really don’t know, puff the vodka, cube big 3, that’s all I’m saying.

I don't think you understand what he is sayin'. He said Snoop ruined the song with Nate Dogg. Do you know what ruined means? That's just his opinion. Then he said that Warren G should re-use those Nate Dogg vocals. Once again, that's how he feels.

if we pick the 5 best track of this, and do the same with coolaid and neva left we can get a CLASSIC album.

Only 15 track...

Now, we get 3x22.
lot of filler. same as e-40 nowdays... quantity over quality.  ??? :'(

i don't think you understand what we are sayin'. not at all. do you know what "verse" means? its not a nate dogg verse. it's a nate dogg chorus. so i thought maybe he read somewhere that, there was a nate dogg verse on the OG version of song and Snoop took it off and thats why he might be saying "he ruined a nate dogg verse". i'm not taking aim at his opinion. i'm trying to understand what he is talking about. nobody asked you to explain anything. so calm down and back off. you have an aggressive attitude and that doesn't fit to a "moderator".

your intention might be helpful (so thank you) but your tongue is speaking opposite. maybe its because of your style. as you see, you were the one who didn't understand what actually we were talking about although your english is perfect. so as long as you try to help people like "do you know what ruined means?", that doesnt help. take it as an advice. don't be offended.

Yeah, okay. You said "where did u hear that?" when Caliluv213 said Warren G should re-use the Nate Dogg hook in another song, so I really was thinkin' that you thought that Warren G was goin' to do that and that's why you asked "where did u hear that?". I guess I understood wrong though. Oh yeah, by the way, the album is still bangin'.

nima is so busy that he doesn’t even have time to press physical copies for the biggest west coast rap artist of all time until months after its release

properly promoting and distributing a snoop album is the least of his concerns right now with all that’s on his plate

can u identify each Snoop character on the cover?

I see tha Doggfather ('96), I wanna thank Snoop (Nov. 2018), Snoop Lion (2013).

I guess we got Drop it like it's Snoop with the 2 braids (2004)

Snoop with a cap may be Doggystyle ('93), Afro Snoop might be Death Row days, and angry Snoop in the middle is i don't know...
