Yes, that's sad about you cousin and my sympathy for your cousin, but we also shouldn't forget the millions of cases of people who have had their lives wrecked by the economic shut downs and lost their livelihood and businesses they may of put some 10-20 years into and will never get back. since you know so much about the disease you should also know it’s much easier to catch than the flu ..... spreads much faster and has a far higher contagion rate. they just did a study in belgium.. the people who thought taking walks outside and riding their bike is keeping them safe better think again. you can literally catch it by walking into peoples airspace, even many feet away. far from flu like from a scientific standpoint.

You're comparing apples to oranges here. Cancer, car accidents, heart disease, etc. are not contagious. With a contagious virus we can do a lot to stop it by preventing/slowing the spread. People that die in car accidents generally aren't hospitalized for weeks before maybe dying. With coronavirus, a lot of people can survive it with the help of ventilators, but we weren't prepared for this and we are taking precautions because our hospitals can't handle all these people at the same time because of lack of resources.
At this point in time you also can't really compare it to the flu. You're using numbers from a whole year of flu against a few months of coronavirus. The number of flu deaths you're using per year is also on the high end. They say it's like 300,00-600,000 flu deaths per years, so it's quite a range. I predict after a year of it being around we'll probably see coronavirus death numbers similar to the flu or more, but keep in mind that is with all the stay-at-home orders. Without those orders, it could easily be 10x the actual numbers.
But i do wish everyone would stay at home because the quicker everyone does it, the sooner life gets back to normal. 660 parties were shut down over the weekend in Manchester. this is basically trial and error period for covid .. unlike traffic accidents, it’s the first time humans have encountered this disease. and because its comprised of a totally different makeup than the flu, nobody knows shit.. for all we know the people getting it and recovering could have their lifespan shortened by 20 years. not saying that’s what it is, but what i’m trying to emphasize here is that everything about it is unknown outside of this past 3 months its existed.
