so misinformed is definately a hip-hop classic. not much hip-hop classics falling from trees lately in today's music.
let bygones be gones is another classic for west coast fans. if snoop will release another best of album, this song will be there.
wintertime in june disapoints with snoop's autotuned singing but didnt it make u cry when u heard Nate on a Fred joint?

there are also a few good joints on the album that u cant skip...
when it comes to "From tha Streets 2 tha Suites"... yeah u are right... it was below average and forgetable. i just listened for once and never listened to any song on there again.

Yeah that one was is something to really just ride to, Great to test speakers highs (your doors speakers 6x9s if you have them for sound clarity) and if you have some subs for 10s and above this album proves why Pharrell a genius. Sounds amazing, but the lyrics are too creative and it is short which I like here as it doesn’t been more than that….

Just happened to find this on youtube music the other day - one of the producers mentioned - Amplified. Not really heard much of Amplified outside of Battlecat collabos. He's produced a lot of NHales' solo stuff too i think. This i like though, has that smooth gfunk sound, hopefully some new Snoop with this sound would be good.

I've heard some of this Griselda stuff bubbling over the past year or so- I see they are on the album too. Not really a fan of their music though when I checked them out - to me they seem like too hard trying to keep a late 90s eastcoast style and believe they got lyrics and wordplay but none of what they say impresses me much - that track Cameras / hammers nah, take the L from Jadakiss. They just sound like average rappers to me. That joint above - i'm guessing it's Benny the butcher - average lyrics but maybe for this day and age this flies. Should have put Kxng Crooked on that track.

i got to say the 3-4 snippets he's realeased of the these songs seem alright, but nothing really sticks out as bangers and have much replay value unlike his last two albums. Expected more especially after the legion of boom lineup. Still will be copping anyway maybe it's one of those albums that sound good from start to finish.

Looks like Snoop redid Will Smith's "Just Cruisin" - super smooth 90s beat. It's playing in the background in part of the video. Love that beat. Nas wrote Will's lyrics for that song too. Probably his best rap song apart from Summertime. Glad Snoop is giving it the G twist.

thanks bro... yeah battlecat is genius. most people dont know but i talked to a lot producers from all around the world from different janras, lots of em knows battlecat very well and they are a huge fan.
maybe worldwide battlecat doesnt have "listener" fans but he is definately favorite producer of someone's fav producer.
i'm a west coast fan no doubt and im proud that we have him.

If this tracklist is accurate - then taking into consideration the features on it, the Mt Westmore project, and the Super Bowl Halftime Show, this all makes sense. Everything ties into each other. There's a trifecta of promotion going on here - one thing supporting the other with each shining a light on the next. Pretty good marketing plan. The Super Bowl, the major label shift to Def Jam, and Dr Dre's "next saga" are all gears in the same machine working for one another, which I think will up the ante for quality output in terms of product. We'll see.

I just heard the full version of "Murda Music"....and it doesn't feature any Snoop verse at all. He only does the intro and chorus. Actually, that's one of the songs I was looking forward for him to spit on. A bummer. Guess that settles the compilation discussions.

Yeah I actually think it is more of a compilation than a Snoop album now. He mentioned in the breakfast club interview another track with Redman, Method Man and a new female MC with a verse on that, and I already figured he was just doing the hook on Murda Muzik since it had Benny, Jada and Busta. I’m sure Snoop is on most of the tracks but I don’t expect him to carry the full album at this point

I had them all downloaded when originally released. I remember one was really low bit rate when it was first put up on dubcnn i think it may have been Vol 4. I never managed to find a good copy of that in cd quality. Also wasn't there 2 versions of vol 3? - one with Daddy V, never knew what were the correct ones supposed to be.

Paid da cost to be da boss and Blue Carpet Treatment were very good succesful albums. I wanna thank me was way better than i expected.

Don't really get why this album gets so much hate already I think it's pretty good and versatile.

This project, which was marketed as a Snoop Dogg album (that was actually a compilation) is a real disappointment. We didn't get the "Snoop Dogg Presents" until it dropped. The entire time it was referred to as personal album. I don't like how he and his team were mincing words with that.
Aside from the PR bullshit, the music - which is the most important part - is more garbage than anything else. The handful of songs that are actually tolerable have their own problems. Make Some Money was probably the best song on the project IMO and it was way too short. What the fuck is going on with these 2-3min songs nowadays? It's just lazy and cheap. Put in some more work and deliver. People are PAYING for this. If fucking Adele can do it, so can they.
So basically this album was all talk and hype with nothing behind it - pump and dump. Bad look for Def Jam. These majors are supposed to be putting the pressure on artists to really measure up with quality material. The bar is so law at this point, you could trip over it. Fuckin' bullshit. I'm so tired of this. Moving on.. :grumpy:

Unfortunately, the same issue happened with The Bible of Love album. It was promoted as Snoop Dogg's album, so in almost all sources it's now indicated as studio album by him thus screwing the numeration of his albums. This is clearly lack of professionalism, by Snoop and by releasing labels.
The only disappointment I personally had is that we found out kinda late that it's just a compilation. But as soon as I adjusted my expectations two weeks prior to the release, I was able to appreciate it once it was released. Even though it has many RnB tracks, the production quality is on point and Snoop paved the road to some new talent which is always great. In the end this is how Snoop himself got into the rap game.

but the album is actually solid from a music standpoint .. i kno it ain’t what the dub wants, but there’s some nice r&b joints on here
i’m only halfway through (another long ass snoop project that could prolly be trimmed down), but the like my weed and i want you joints are the standouts thus far. no bammer weed is a knocker as well
and sonically it def hits nice .. not some of the funkiest bc productions, but the crispiness of them are a1.

well there’s different levels to sonic mastery
there’s:
subpar (a good portion of independent hip hop projects today are poor in sound quality)
solid (most projects meet the solid standard- just good enough to release but doesn’t sound as crisp as it should)
good (i’d say there’s a nice number of projects that are good sonically, but most are funded by big labels)
great (it’s rare for an album to be sonically great nowadays, especially in hip-hop)
flawless (pretty much only dre achieves this level)
sonically, algorithm doesn’t quite meet the dre standard of flawless but it is in the great range, which is more than what we can say for most albums droppin nowadays.

I applaud Snoop for making a video for this song. It's definitely not commercial and has that Tha Last Meal vibe to it, because of the beat and hook by Kokane. Quite a dope song, even though at first listen I didn't really like it.

According to chadmkiser Snoop Dogg just announced he’ll be kicking off the new year with a new solo album coming in January.
The Doggfather took to Instagram early Christmas morning to wish everyone a merry Christmas and to announce the upcoming project.
No details have been released as to what the album title is or who may be featured or producing on the project, but he did take to the comment section to ask DJ Battlecat where the mixes were.
