CNN) -- A child is the only survivor of a Sudan airways passenger jet that crashed, killing 105 passengers and 11 crew.
The plane, a Boeing 737 on a domestic flight, crashed Tuesday morning shortly after takeoff from the Red Sea town of Port Sudan in the northeast of the country.
"Only one child has survived," government spokesman Abdel Hamid Abdeen told CNN. "This is a very, very tragic accident. A big human loss."
The child, a 2-year-old boy, was rushed to hospital in good condition, Red Sea provincial government spokesman Salah Ali Ahmed told Sudanese television, The Associated Press reported.
The plane came down in wasteland about 5 km (3 miles) from Port Sudan airport. No damage or casualties have been reported on the ground.
The pilot reported "technical difficulties" about 10 minutes after the plane took off for Khartoum and crashed a short time later as he tried to return to the Port Sudan airport.
"The pilot contacted the tower and decided to return to the airport. While trying to land, the plane crashed," he said.
Sudan Airways officials said 55 Sudanese men, 27 women,16 children and seven foreigners, including Malaysians and French, were on the flight. No other details on the passengers were known.
The dead were moved from the charred remains of Flight SD 39 to morgues in Port Sudan.
Abdeen said that as far as he was aware the plane had no history of technical problems. Technical teams are being sent from Khartoum to Port Sudan to investigate.
There have been few passenger plane crashes in recent years in Sudan. A year ago, a Sudan Airways cargo plane crashed into a residential area of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, killing 23 people, mostly passengers and crew.
In 1986, 60 people died when a Sudan Airways passenger plane was hit by a guerilla SAM-7 missile shortly after takeoff from Malakal in southern Sudan, where the Islamic government has been fighting a 20-year civil war with rebels.

LOL at the title of this thread...........seems like someone tries very hard to convince us non-believers very hard of his correctness. The only one needing to open his eyes is mr. Trauma himself.........I doubt he has ever looked for a scientific or rational explanation for all his miracles and "proofs of God's existence." I won't believe until I've seen Him for myself,so strop trying to convince me. (and other non-believers)

babys bones arent has hard as adults...they can be dropped and squished more then a brittle adult. add in the factor of the infants size and that it was probably in a more protected location than its parents & other passengers (possibly a cot with lots of blankets?)... that gives it a what... 3/4 fold at least greater chance of survival alone.
ps.. you're the arrogant one for ranting at people because they dont conform to your belief system.... eat a dick :P

God made baby to be this way for a reason though... when he created all.. he made each thing to perfection.. knowing of the harm people bring to people.... knowing the earth would need trees and water.. knowing that man would not always follow him.. finding ways to save his stray sheep...

This doesn't convince me. When people cannot explain something, they turn to god. "My grandma died...must be god." "A baby was the only survivor of a plane crash...must be god."
If there is a god in the universe, he is an asshole. Everyone praises "God" because he saved a single life in a plane crash, and ignore the fact that he TOOK the lives of 55 Sudanese men, 27 women,16 children and seven foreigners. I don't see whats so special about it...

He still has all oppurtunity to develop into a tyrant or a murderer or who knows what else. That God of ours would better stop wars and hunger or do something else that has a more global positive effect on his beloved humans. I remember someone mentioning the size of the baby and that's indeed an important factor.If you throw a beetle from a tower it'll walk further unharmed,a mouse will be a little uncomfortable for a short time,a human will splash and a horse will explode.The mass is very important for the effect of the inpact with the floor. Well, I would say it has something to do with karma, spiritual history, how evil is just a perception and is neccessary for good to exist blah blah, but I dont really want to get into that right now and like I wouldn't change my views, you probably wouldn't change yours. Back to the topic, that is just incredible to say the least.

^^ because we can't. There ARE things, that no matter what, we cannot explain, anyway we look at it. Space, Infinity, & Time are three perfect examples, we cannot explain them, we cannot understand them, but yet they exist.
What it comes down to is, We don't know why god does what he does, if we did, we'd be god. Everyonce in a while, or maybe all the time, I dunno, he reaches down and does something, to people that believe, they go "Wow! That was god!" to other people, they just don't understand what just happened.

And O, God doesn't leave calling cards. He 'proves' himself through faith, it's complicated and you probably don't care, or I'd explain it... AGAIN... I've already explained it about a dozen times on here, but nobody really is interested in it, so I don't feel like getting into it.

When something bad happens, and u dont want to face the the reality that bad things can happen to you, u say...it was God. He does everything for a reason...etc...etc. Now u feel better, right? Because God...is looking after YOU. Its basically one big 'security blanket' for adults. Youre right, there are some things that we cannot YET explain. But thats why we have minds, in order to keep TRYING to understand...and learn how they are possible. Not to just be blind followers, and say..."Its God....".

If it's a matter of "fairness" then logically we will not be satisfied until death has been eliminated all-together. And the only way God can truly be "fair" is to do exactly what he will do, create another perfect world in which there can be no more death and suffering of any kind.
Biblical scripture says one of the reasons God allows us to suffer is so that he can comfort us and thus equip us to comfort others in their suffering. (2 Cor. 1:3-4)
