Title: Anyone ever had Absinthe

Maxim did an article about it this month out of the 5 they tried Pernod was the best with 5 out 5 stars, this is what they wrote about it

Pernod ($45 US)

Effect: Released a torrent of free-flowing lyrical thoughts and deepened colors to the point where everything almost looked CGI.

Taste: Spicy to start, but finishes smooth, like sweetened iced tea. Careful or it'll taste like candied digestive fluid on the way back up.

Overall rating: five hacked-off ears

The one that got 4 out of 5 was the strongest and tasted like shit

Czech Strong ($65 US)

Effect: This is definitely the shit-and it tastes like it. We became heavily animated after a glass and discussed the torturous contradiction: The most powerful absinthe has the worst flavor, by far.

Taste: More foul than piss from a leprous cat. Dose it with plenty of sugar.

Overall rating: four hacked-off ears

mmm about 150% proof...enuff to fuc u up good, kicks like a mule but nice.

Absinth has been banned in this country untill quite recently really because of the supposed dementia attached to it...people doing weird fucked up things on it,, ie van gogh cutting his ear off was down to him drinking too much of this...

...now it is re-released in less strenth...still strongert than nearly anything else but not 100% proof like it was...think its 60 -70% now

so it was banned as it orgionally existed over there too

151 is tough to take if you've never had it before...shit the first time i had 151 i was a huge lightweight...i smelled that shit and was like i dont know about this...needless to say i decided to try it anyway...took half a shot and almost threw up cuz that shit burns your throat. with as much of a lightweight as i was too...that half a shot got me buzzed too.

You can get it at almost any liquor store here.

Thats similar to my first experience with it too! The first time I drank alcohol I had some 151, and needless to say I was devirginized in a somehwat uncomfortable way :D But Ill mix it with some coke anyday.

And now Im curious to try out Absinth! ;D pZ
