Title: Wanna hear something sad?
Post by: Doggystylin on September 02, 2003, 06:43:08 PM
oh man, but im serious for this lil moment here, wanna hear something sad? this broke me down when i heard it, some poor 9th grader was walkin to the bus stop this morning for her first day of high school and got hit by a cocksuckin drunk driver and she got hit so fuckin bad that they had to helicopter her out to some special hospital and they dont know if shes gonna make it....pray for her man, i feel bad for her

this is here at my school btw. and its down this street that i drive down everyday to get to my house so it hit me hard..its like DAMN..what a shame, her parents were like oh our daughter is goin to high school for the first time all happy n proud, n BAAM. shame....damn shame.

and this morning, on the way to school that street was closed off, so im like god damnit, what the hell, so i had to take a detour and got to school late and i was wondering why it was closed off cuz it seemed strange, and then when i heard it at school, i was like OH DAMN...sucks

This is another possible reason why the Qu'ran has clearly instructed us to stay clear of alcohol products.

The Qur'an is a timeless message.  You can't deny that alcohol influences people into acting shamefully.

Like the Qu'ran says, there is some good in alcohol, but the bad outwieghs the good, and therefore Allah does not permit it.

yes in a way.

the way i see it people deflect the blame onto alcohol though.

the real problem isnt alcohol, but people who arent responsible enough not to either 1) not drive under the influence or 2) over drink and be a nuisance to themselves and others.

the qu'ran tackles this by outlawing it, therefore many assoc'd problems go away. archaic to me, but it works!

outside of islam. essentially its about bein responsible for your own actions.

oh yeah, she died  :( RIP

but um yeah people can be stupid as hell when their sober too, and when stupid people drink, they drive, so stupid people should be the ones outlawed, lol

its called self controll, if you dont have any then dont drink.

oh yea common sense too

I bet if you asked a drunk driver if he (or she) has common sense they would say yes.

Before I submitted to the will of Allah Subbanna Wa Tallah and became Muslim, my friends and I used to drive under the influence.  All of us thought that we were smart and had common sense.  Allah is the best of knowers!

^ you are correct.

but.. i'd never drive if i've had more than i think i should like you used to.

i dont need to be controlled or given rules to know how to behave in this world.

good point, bassicly some people need a guideline, a book, and some people use their brain.

First off: RIP to the girl. Lets hope they throw the book at that guy.

Second: I've probably spilled more booze than most alcholics have consumed in my time.

I've never once thought about getting behind the wheel after I've had even one drink. The risks are just too great for me to take a chance like that.

I don't follow the Quran nor the bible. I go on common sense and my own morals.

You only know those Muslims because those are the only Muslims you want to know.  It would make you feel ashamed of yourself to be around practicing Muslims.

Because, what we are talking about is not difficult.  If he woke up for fajr (morning) prayer tomarrow morning, and went to a mosque in his area (like he's recommended to do everyday anyway); then he would find a large group of practicing Muslims who would never have anything to do with alcohol.

I know Rod's family is Shii'i, I haven't been to any Shi'i mosque's;  but I know the mosque's that I go to are full of commited Muslims who don't find much difficulty in following Islam.  Who see it as practical, rather than illusive "concepts" like Rod describes.

Anything but maybe hugs or something, LOL is bad in excess.  Alcohol is REALLY bad in excess.  A smart person wouldn't drink in excess very often, that's my opinion.  When you drink in excess, it enslaves the only thing you're born with on earth, you're body.  Think how precious your body is, voluntarily losing control over it isn't very intelligent.

Oh, and let me just mention, Brian has big problems with people that drink, he told me his dad apparently is a drunk, that's why he says hurtful stuff like that.
