Title: Is Wrestling a Sport???

Jay Ay Bee brought up (in another thread) that wrestling is not a sport becuz it is predetermined and that means theres no competition!!

Im not talkin about the real wrestling shit like in High School...im talkin about WWF shit...

I think wrestling is still pretty hard physically.....


Wat r yall thoughts??

I think a sport has to be competitive

It doesn't matter how athletic the participants are - it has to be competotove

Angling is a sport but Wrestling's not

I dunno, I don't feel competition has to be involved for it to be a sport.  Because that would make Cheerleading a sport.  And it isn't.  

But I'd say wrestling is a sport, I mean, definately amateur wrestling.  There is competition, also, because it's all a show to make each other look good, I think that can be competitive.

WWE is not a sport, its entertainment, of course the participants have to be very well fit, but there is no competition... it's like a TV sitcom only live and with a lot of violence, real wrestling is, where the athletes really have to train and know wrestling moves (more exciting to me too)

Well, they call it sports entertainment. The wrestlers are definitly atheletes, but I don't know if that classifies it as a sport. Who really cares though? It's still entertaining as hell.

no...it isn't. professional wrestling is, but the WWF aint. the guys don't even hit each other for real...i don't like it, but a lot of ppl find it really entertaining.
