Title: Have you ever fasted before?

I tried to do it a couple weeks back. I only lasted 16 hours  :-\. I'm going to try again this weekend to get 24 hours. Wish me luck.

We've got a Canadian David Blane on our hands!

Why would you want to starve yourself for 24 hours? I *MIGHT* understand if it were for religious purposes, but it seems a tad self destructive if you do it just for the hell of it.

yep... we fasted for a weekend at our church once.. before we made of confirmation... also my no meat and egg diet is concider a fast... if it is done for God...and thats been going on.. since feb 8th...

i cut my meals from 3 a day to about a half a meal a day throughout the day when i was really depressed about 8 months ago...lost almost 40 pounds....never felt better.

I fast from time to time for religious puroposes. 24 hours at a time is usually my commitment.

I did it a couple of times of 24 hours or a few more.  I did it just for the hell of it, no reason really, just to see what it was like to not eat for a whole day, and to see if I could actually do it.

yeah i guess you kinda have to get used to it

and for those who wonder why, it can be good for your health, you detoxify your body like that. i dont know all the details but if you fast a certain way it can be good for your health.

Alsalamualaikum i was ognna be a Moslem but i decided to wait i might be tho when im in my late 30's i studyed alot about it  Inifite aka Brain sended me a tape and i have the Koran and other books about it... i gave it up tho cuzz my family kept talking shit and etc... if u know my background you will know why...so IF i do become moslem im waiting till im in my late 30's

You shouldn't wait. IF anything happens before you convert, Allah will not accept you into heaven. I haven't made my conversion yet so I'm taking a risk, but soon I will.

Allah is loving to those who love Him. He is perfect in every way, He knows all & one day He will bestow rewards upon those who submit to His will.

Good question. BTW for those who don't know, Allah is simply the Arabian word for God, Christians worship the same God as Muslims.

A correction of one of my above posts. The word Allah does not simply mean "God", it more accurately translates to The One True God

Allah is Infinite he is the creator and etc.. i cant rememebr but ask Infinite he is really smart he taught me alot about Islam he is the one who got me into it...

or simply "the god"

see "a god" in arabic would be spelled "ilah"
"the god" would be "allah"

"all" is kinda like "the" and can be added to any word ....


i'm not sure if u understand what i mean as it's very hard to explain arabic in english ... but if u need any help with translation or something just pm me , i'm always glad to help
