Title: THE "EMINEM" TRACK
Post by: Dedicato on November 18, 2003, 03:00:50 PM
Ya'll know the Source article about this "Eminem" track recorded by Eminem that he has kept hidden since 1993 at a press conference. In the unnamed song, which will be played in its entirety, Eminem voices his opinions about black women and black people in general. ... but is this true or fake? Your decision...

You know, I think the tape is probably authentic because the degree and amount of the racial remarks seem to me, to be on the low end. And I would think if the Source was going to make a fake tape with a fake sound-a-like they would probably script the song with more venomous hatred and pejorative remarks toward blacks.
That said I don't think the tape was very offensive, the things he said can be found on any of his albums minus the word black so to me it’s nothing.

it sure sounds similar but there's no track (I've heard) on which he sounds exactly like that.. if this was supposed to be from 97 or shit i'd be sure it's fake but I dunno how he sounded in 93.. but I guess his voice was higher like on that track rodzilla posted so I doubt this is real

check out the "Infinite" album...he sounds almost identical to that...its a little bit different but i think thats mainly because the album quality is somewhat low.

I got that album I disagree on him sounding identical.. it sure sounds similar like I said but there's still clearly a difference.. then again this is supposed to be older so it could be real.. like I said I dunno about 93

Here's a question, when did he first callin' himself "eminem"?  Cause I remember  watching an MTV special on him where he wasn't callin' himself that until later...?  Just a thought.

from www.mtv.com

On the first of two tracks purportedly recorded in 1993, an audibly young Slim Shady raps, "All the girls I like to bone have big butts/ No they don't, 'cause I don't like that n----- sh--/ I'm just here to make a bigger hit."

The second track featured Eminem rapping about a black girlfriend he broke up with. "Blacks and whites, they sometimes mix/ But black girls only want your money, 'cause they're dumb chicks," he rhymes. Later in the freestyle Em raps, "Never date a black girl, because blacks only want your money/ And that sh-- ain't funny."

The first track was only a few lines long, but the second track went on for several minutes with Em — seemingly rhyming off the top of his head — repeatedly saying he did not like black girls and that they were only out to get money. Both tracks sounded amateurish.

Eminem responded by insisting he isn't racist and explaining that the recording was made when he was young, foolish and angry.

"Don't make this right now a double standard," Benzino said at the press conference. "We gotta treat this the same way you treat Mike Tyson, like you treat Kobe Bryant, like you treat R. Kelly, like you treat O.J. Simpson."

LOL, comparin' eminem to a convicted rapist, alleged rapist, alleged childmolester, and alleged murderer.  I'm not sayin' it's allright, but c'mon Ray....

LOL @ making a big deal out of this track..  ::)
Take any Ras Kass or Dead Prez track where they talk about white people, and it's 20 times worse..
Even Noreaga have had worse lyrics that that.

The only people that should be offended by this track, is Black Panther people and such, but that shouldn't be too hard.

I thought this would be some "KKK, kill all niggers and burn them" shit from the way Benzino & The Source announced the tape.  :-X

The Source Digs Up Tape Of Eminem Using Racial Slurs

"I hope people will take it for the foolishness that it was, not for what somebody is trying to make it into today." — Eminem

NEW YORK — Eminem found himself on the defensive Tuesday (November 18) after The Source magazine owners Ray Benzino and Dave Mays held a press conference to play a recording of the MC delivering racial slurs.

"Don't make this right now a double standard," Benzino said at the press conference. "We gotta treat this the same way you treat Mike Tyson, like you treat Kobe Bryant, like you treat R. Kelly, like you treat O.J. Simpson."

Eminem responded by insisting he isn't racist and explaining that the recording was made when he was young, foolish and angry.

"Ray Benzino, Dave Mays and The Source have had a vendetta against me, Shady Records and our artists for a long time," Eminem said in a statement. "The tape they played today was something I made out of anger, stupidity and frustration when I was a teenager. I'd just broken up with my girlfriend, who was African-American, and I reacted like the angry, stupid kid I was. I hope people will take it for the foolishness that it was, not for what somebody is trying to make it into today."

Eminem, 50 Cent and the rest of the Shady/Aftermath team have had a long-running feud with The Source, fueled by Benzino's accusations that the media operate on a double standard when it comes to the multiplatinum white MC and that an artist of color could never get away with saying some of the things Em says in his music (see "Benzino Ignites Beef By Calling Eminem '2003 Vanilla Ice'").

After their comments, Benzino and Mays refused to entertain questions about the tape and its origins. They did say they plan to include a CD of the Eminem recordings in February's issue, and they promised another press conference concerning Eminem will be held in the future, when they'll answer questions and have civic leaders and members of the hip-hop community on hand.

the songs are definitely real, but i dont really care.  While i am not a big eminem fan, i do want to do defend him to some extent.   How come it is alright for black people to make derogatory songs towards white women (cave bitch by Cube for example) but not EM?  It is true em says some fucked up shit on the tape, but not to the extent that Benzino and David mays are describing.

Furthermore, Benzino i sa fucking loser. He wants the media to treat em like Mike tyson and MJ, and OJ and Kobe, yet EM did nothing close to as serious.

If Benzino is so concerned, maybe he would like to go after Dead PRez for their comments about WHITE people!  I personally could give a fuck what they say, but if Benzino is mad at em, he better start raising shit about Dead Prez and every other rapper that disses white people cuz we wouldnt wanna use DOUBLE STANDARDS would we...............

this is alll bullshit, the source is grasping, trying to stayt above water and are mad desperate.

Above all, if Benzino is so concerned about hip hop music and black people, maybe he should start making some positive, quality rap music instead of that ignorant gangster shit he makes.  And isnt Benzino said to be one of the realest rappers out there?  Well, IMO if he really is killing his own people then he aint that concerned about anyone but #1.  peace

Also, anyone ever hear of Everlasts version of Shook ones where he says NIGGA!!!!!!!!!!  Wow, this eminem thing couldnt be something personal between the source and eminem, could it?

The good thing for eminem is this:  teeny bopper eminem fans do not and will not give a fuck what a Benzino says, and true hiphop fans will realize that racism has long been in hiphop..........peace

i bet more rappers will defend em on this one than go against im, although i could see some female rappers like Kim getting pissed lol

That issue is nothing but ridiculous. Although I would never glorify racists it's not really anything "new" that rappers drop derogatory remarks in their songs. And I think Eminem's lyrics are old enough to don't give a fuck about them. Furthermore as the "anti-white lyrics" above show there were many parts that were more worse than Em's one. "The Source" just needed some good publicity again.

lmao @ him "hoping there'll be no double standarts".. the double is right there, making a big deal out of a tape recorded as a kid making fun of his former girlfriend in a wrong way by making it a racist issue (but still it it was obviously out of fruststration, if Em was a racist he wouldn't even have had a black girlfriend) when nobody sais shit about shit like the quotes syxx_aka_engies  posted

I'm a bit surprised they actually had a tape, but all that shit 'cause of that? Oh yeah, Em's clearly racist on the basis of that tape. That's why he works for a black man and has hired several other black men.

 ::)

Give up Benzino, you're not fooling anybody into giving you any support. You ain't a figure in this culture anybody should listen to, no matter how much of The Source you own or how much you hate other more successful rappers.

OK, there's some racist stuff there, but it's more generalizing than hating... There no comparing that to KKK or some shit though. Just some shit what the kid said when he was angry. How old was Em in 93? Like 19 or 20... I honestly believe you gotta be really petty if start hating on somebody for something like that that happened 10 years ago. Well, actually I did start hating on somebody - I hate Benzino even more. C'mon fool! Quit this bullshit.

To be honest i shouldnt take credit for the post, someone earlier posted a link to it, i just decided to use what was inside the link to show Lincoln the fantasy world he lives in

Fine if these guys were rappin about "we need jobs, we need education, we need less gang's, we need to get out the ghetto" thats better ment of black's right there

but to say "kill a white baby" is just as a bad if not worse than some of the Neo Nazi's & KKK members say. & from readin many of Lincolns posts, he is one of those guys who will never listen to any argument that doesnt support his opinion because he is stubborn. I agree with you to a point. However did you notice that the majority of those quotes come from artists I don't listen too? One of the Paris lines is a actually Spice 1 by the way. I listen to arguments but I'm sorry, I realize I don't understand fully but I've seen Blacks called racial slurs. I couldn't imagine what some of them have been through in their lives.

Also, anyone ever hear of Everlasts version of Shook ones where he says NIGGA!!!!!!!!!!  Wow, this eminem thing couldnt be something personal between the source and eminem, could it?

Not black, but I can see how Everlast's saying "nigga" isn't taking personal, whereas Em's is. It's the context. First off, Everlast said nigga because that was the word in the song that he covering. Either way, it wasn't meant in an offensive matter. But, Everlast did get in some shit for saying nigga back in the day. Remember Quik and them dissed him for it. They got on him for using the word nigga, not even in a bad way, just using the word. The way it's used in these "tracks" is offensive to some. So, you can see his stance on this. Like I was telling Big Bad Ass, Em is doing black music, he should have that respect for the culture. I ain't black, so it don't matter to me.

lmao @ him "hoping there'll be no double standarts".. the double is right there, making a big deal out of a tape recorded as a kid making fun of his former girlfriend in a wrong way by making it a racist issue (but still it it was obviously out of fruststration, if Em was a racist he wouldn't even have had a black girlfriend) when nobody sais shit about shit like the quotes syxx_aka_engies  posted

Even slave owners fucked their black slaves, does that mean they're not racist? No. I mean, hell I don't think what he said was racist, but then again I'm not black. You're not black, hardly any of us here are black. I think to really understand the severity of the statements, you'd have to be black.

As far as the "white" statements. It's like this. Blacks and Latinos were/are discriminated against by whites, often. It was like that back in the day and it's still around now. White's were never enslaved. White's were never shunned from schools, diners etc. White's never lost their land to Latinos etc. There is a lot of pain in minorities that stems from whites. It sounds like a cop out, but it's the truth.

nobody said it wasn't wrong what he said of course it was and the statement itself was racist too but the reason for this is not Eminem not repsecting black people but the very situation he was in when he said that shit..  nobody said he should be sayin that shit and if he was generalizing shit like that nowadays I sure wouldn't listen to it but it's 10 years old, it resulted out of his frustration and Em knows it was wrong.. considering nearly all his homies are black it's obvious he respect blacks and it's not hard to believe that it's exactly like he said, him being a foolish angry dude at that very time

well slave owners owned them, it's a different thing when u got a black girlfriend.. she sure wouldn't have become his girlfriend if he was generally disrespecting blacks and he wouldn't want to have a black girlfirend (not meaning he wouldn't fuck em like even slaveowners did) and treat her like u treat ur girlfriend if he was racist

and I am considering the discrimination against blacks n latinos, that's why I still listen to this music (surely not the menace clan but cube, paris etc) when I would not listen to a white guy with those kinda racist lyrics no matter how much skills he had.. but people are still overeacting, even when it's not meant to be disrespecting like white guys using nigga the way blacks do cuz they have a lot of black homies and they're used to it or shit

I can see your point on the "becoming the girl friend" statement. But, I know plenty of people who get into relationships strictly for sex. We don't know how the relationship was. We don't know if he treated her well. You know what I mean? We can only speculate. Since he even said that's when he was "young and dumb" it's easy to assume the relationship was meaningless.

Em is in an industry dominated by blacks, for those comments to come out of his mouth is shocking. True, they're not as bad as they're being made out to be, they still we said. It's that lack of respect thats really a factor. If D-12 and them are his homies, why make a song like that?

You guys need to relax...He was just making a song (it was a freestyle actually, not a song) about not liking Black Girls...Shit, I bet if there was a song about a black guy not liking white girls, you guys wouldn't even think twice about it...In fact, there is songs like that...So just STFU, and stop being so ignorant...

BTW, lots of white rappers have said 'nigga' in their songs before...In fact, over half of the white rappers out there have...PeACe

Difference is this.

A white emcee who uses the word "nigga" is never in reference to blacks, for the exception of their homies. Like Jedi Mind Tricks, they used the word "nigga" on Violent By Design, but they used in the "friendly" manner. They weren't saying "fuck these niggers." That's a different game when it's used that way.

ya we can only speculate but imo it's pretty obvious, according to the lyrics she probably cheated on him with some black guys and he felt like she was playing him so he said that shit about the money to have an explanation for what she did.. it's just a guess but a racist doesn't have 90% black homies and he'd definatly prefer fuckin a white girl espacially when she's his girlfriend who he's hanging with n shit, racists would probably feel ashamed for having a girlfriend who isn't really worth shit in their mind even if the relationship was just for sex.. another factor was probably that he always received alot of hate from blacks for being the white boy tryin to rap, kinda like in 8 mile.. he said before it often was like that.. of course it's still wrong but it even if it doesn't justify the disrespect it does explain it.. then again I gotta agree on that point about his homies like D12, he shouldn't have done it for the sake of respect for them alone

Heck its very similar to the way a KKK member will ignore evidence of African Americans not being these scum bags the KKK call them.

By the way, fuck all the haters who have minused my karma, i guess sometimes the truth hurts

Yes, & some white people have been killed just because they were tourists or ignorant that they were in a neighboor hood where people hate whites.

Theres also a white ghetto to, its called Trailer Parks. Not all white people are privilged, & yes Blacks were treated extremely unfairly, & SOME of it still goes on today, but whites also get treated on fairly at times to, with SOME blacks using reverse racism

People need to realize Hip hop is a culture not a color.
And sometimes when people say shit they don't mean it. Everyone here has probably said racist jokes before. I know I have. I have said racist black shit to black dudes and they laugh and say shit back. That doesnt mean i am racist...

double standards. whats em said was wrong but it aint as bad as this

ice cube - cave bitch

Give me a black goddess sister I can't resist her. No stringy haired, blonde
hair, blue eyed, pale skinned buttermilk complexion. Grafted, recessive,
depressive, ironing board backside straight up and straight down. No
frills, no thrills, Miss six o'clock, subject to have the itch, mutanoid,
caucasoid, white cave bitch...

Ease back white bitch, I don't play that
Just because I got on my L.A. hat
Stalkin' walking in my big black boots
Is my jingle, now you want Mandingo
Big, black and handsome
I should hold your devil ass for ransome
Sorta like Patty Herst, but I'll burst first bitch
And you know what's worse
I'm coming from the land where the choppers roam
So phuck you bitch and your Coppertone
Stringy hair - no derrier - frontin' and fakin' with your silicone pair
Do I wanna phuck? Not hardly
That's kinda like Barbie phuckin' Bob Marley
It ain't gonna happen, I keep rappin'
Muthaphuck Teniell, but see I'm the Captain of this ship
And I'm true to the game
Ya all look the same
Standin' by my backstage door, hopin' that'll switch
Spread out you little cave bitch

Why everytime we get famous
You wanna play us like Andy and Amos?
The devil sent you to try and tame us
But you can't tame me, with no bitch named Amy
Lookin' for the dark meat
But ho, I ain't tryin' to go out like Barkely
Cuz everytime I turn on the TV
I see several brothers with she-devils
Smilin' cuz you out on a date
But sooner or later, the bitch'll yell rape
Soon as daddy found out you a jigaboo
He'll kill like he did Emmitt Till
Yah, he tried to kick bass
But the bitch probably threw it in his face
Sargent Bale ain't nothin' but a trick
Nasty as hell, stanky little cave bitch

Now don't think that I hate you
Cuz I won't date you, bitch I gotta stay true
You can be a fan, but don't expand
And try to get my dick in your hand
You better run to the minute man
Pale as snow, so act like y'know
Cuz if I slap it, flip it, and rub it like that
Yeah, it gotta be black
Plus yo ass too flat
I need a butt big enough that can clap
Rat-a-tat-tat
You can't get mine ho
I'd rather phuck an albino
Atleast I know, she's comin' from the Nubian
And not the Ku Klux Klan that you be in
And I don't give a fuck if your family is rich
You're still a little cave bitch

I don't wanna interrupt your discussion, but that's what the "officials" had to say:

Russell Simmons' Hip-Hop Summit Action Network (HHSAN) has released a statement revealing its position on controversial lyrics Eminem wrote about African-Americans in a rap recited in 1993.

[...]

This past April, the HHSAN honored Eminem at their Detroit Summit. The Detroit native was granted the National Outstanding Achievement Award for his charity work and hands-on support of youth nationwide.

Dr. Benjamin Chavis, President of HHSAN, said that the race card is often used to divide the hip-hop culture.

"Hip-hop culture transcends race," Chavis noted. "We, therefore, must be careful as to how the race card is played to divide people rather than to encourage unity in the struggle for freedom, justice and equality for all."

The support of Simmons' non-profit organization comes on the heels of Eminem apologizing for the remarks, saying they were made out of anger and frustration.

[...]

The Source has refused to take the raps as “foolishness,” as Eminem put it in a retort. "These are racist remarks by someone who has the ability to influence millions of minds," said editor-in-chief Kim Osorio to New York Newsday.

The tape is the latest in a series of insults hurled at each other, which includes diss records from both sides, The Source printing articles and posters aimed at discrediting Eminem and Eminem smashing his Source Award to pieces this year at Hot 97's Summer Jam concert.

Im not even sure it's Em rapping, may be so may be no, but even if it is, who fuckin cares, I thought he said something about "not having the N word in his vocab, since HipHop is a black act, and u gotta give respect to the shit that feeds u" or some shit like that, but still, The fact he once kicked a lame freestyle about black girls doesn't make him any less of a supreme MC he is today.

dude...for the last time...eminem admitted it was him!

so?

lol...you said you arent sure if its him...but eminem has admitted it was him...

yea , I did, At the time I said it I didn't know he admited it, I meant that by the way it sounded I wasn't sure.

Looks like the ongoing feud with Eminem and The Source Magazine, just reached a whole new level. And depending on what the truth is, Em may not have gotten much sleep last night, either.
Here's the deal. Tonight at 6 PM Eastern, The Source Magazine executives David Mays and Raymond “Benzino” Scott will air publicly for the first time an explosive audio track reportedly recorded by Eminem that he has kept hidden since 1993 at a press conference.

In the unnamed song, which will be played in its entirety, Eminem voices his opinions about black women and black people in general. Transcripts of the track will be provided.

The Source says it has verified the authenticity of the tape, which was provided by three white hip-hop fans from Detroit who were peers of Eminem in the early ’90s, at the time of the recording.

The Source, in a statement supplied to EUR, says the tape contains what is clearly identifiable as Eminem’s voice, reciting racial slurs targeted against black women — and it proves Benzino right after a year of being vilified by the media for bringing such questions surrounding Eminem to the fore.

"Bringing this tape to the public is the latest chapter," The Source says, in its "ongoing effort to expose influences corrupting Hip-Hop, including racism.
