Here's a great one.
The World thinks Americans are all a bunch of overweight, fat hillbillies that sit around on their couches in the trailerparks of America, and do whatever the president tells them to.
The world also, generally has a view that the democrats among us are more intelligent, and conservatives are more archaic and not as enlightened.
I don't understand this mentality. How arrogant is it of someone from Canada, or France, or whatever, to act like we're all a bunch of dumbasses being led around on a string, when in reality; we've became the world's greatest superpower, while ALSO being one of the world's newest countries (230 years old). We lead the world in so many fields it isn't even funny, and have went from running around in loincloths hunting buffalo to owning the most powerful military, pioneering liberty, and basically running the world, in 230 years.
How can you be so arrogant, that you think we're all a bunch of fools? Open your eyes. We're obviously not that fucking stupid, we run shit. We didn't get PUT there, we PUT ourselves there.
I just find it interesting that everybody knocks us, but we're the best at practically EVERYTHING. How the fuck do you get off saying we're all stupid? LOL. The entire congress, house of reps, supreme court, and the presidency, as well as a majority of the governerships is ran by conservatives who the world thinks are antiquated and can't be in touch with reality, but IN reality, we've survived the largest terrorist attack on our soil, we've fought and won 2 wars decisively on what was deemed the harshest geography in the world, we've passed bills furthering health care benefits for every senior citizen in america (which no other president could get passed), we've lowered taxes, and we've spiked the economy to 20 year highs in some levels, such as manufacturing and home building.
All by a bunch of cavemen imbeciles the world sees as idiots.
Here's a hint: If you want to attack us, you might want to at least acknowledge that your average U.S. citizen is pretty intelligent. As are most people in most countries, I'm not bragging, I'm just saying; why the arrogance in saying that the U.S. is ran by idiots? LOL LOOK AT WHAT WE'VE DONE... IN 2 Years!

I'm not saying anybody should kiss our ass, I'm just saying at least give us the common decency to admit that we're the same as you.
(Italians not included, LOL I know yall are alright). I'm really not even talking about any specific country, or anything, I'm just talking about specific individuals, who imagine themselves intelligent, but they're making a HUGE mistake to just pigeon hole every american or every conservative as a caveman.

I'm not talking about Italy. I mean not the whole world think you are stupids. If Lakers win 3 straight titles, be sure somebody (all the non-Lakers) will hate on them. For stupid reasons! They buy games, Kobe is a rapist, other teams are better, they lucky bastards, etc..! It's the same with Manchester UTD in UK, Juventus in Italy, U.S.A. Dream Team on Basketball... if you win/are the best, you have half of the people who accept it, and half of the people who doesnt accept it.

The guy might be irritating but that doesn't mean you have to discuss something really different in his own thread.
And yes,Americans are pigeonholed. But what can you expect when most of you just don't care about anything if it isn't related to America? Most of you just don't know shit about the world outside America.
That isn't to say people in other countries (like over here in the Netherlands) can't be dumb as fuck,for example people over here will go on vacation to Isla Marguerita (in Venezuela) and think they're going to somewhere in Spain. ::) They just don't search information about the place they'll visit wich in my eyes is a sign of stupidity or at least terrible ignorance. I'm sure this is the case with people the world over.

I know. I wrote "it's like..". Cause i mean it's ALWAYS like that, in real life, in sports, in politics, at school, everywhere. If there's a winner/power, and other ones who cant touch him/it, half of them will accept it, half of them will attack him even if there're no reasons. I never bothered reading anyone's post, but yes I am American, and yes I agree, overall and in general American's are fucking dumb. I have had tons of experiences with a ton of different american people. I have worked many many different service jobs where I deal with hundreds of people a day. I now own a business which provides services to people. From dealing with so many people I have come to the conclusion that Americans in general:
A) are Dumb
B) Do not think
C) are Lazy
D) are kind hearted and nice, but dumb
E) have their head shoved way up their ass
I could give thousands of examples, but I'm not going to, because there are a lot of dumb people on this forum too, and I don't need to prove to anyone that americans in general are dumb, because I know myself from personal experience.
Not to say American's are the dumbest people on the earth. I wouldn't know. I have never been to any other country except for Mexico. The whole rest of the world could be very well as dumb as American's, I just don't know that.
ANd I will also say, that for as smart of animals as we are compared to every other animal in the world, we have got to be the dumbest. Many of the problems of the world today are brought on by humans themselves. We make the world and our lives much harder than it should be. One example: Starvation. Nobody in this world should be suffering from starvation, yet there are a lot of people who do suffer from it. It's not like there is any shortage of food at all, its just that people are dumb/selfish/greedy. Do you know how many restaurant's/grocery stores in America throw away a shitload of food everyday?

I think American TV-shows like Ricky Lake, Jerry Springer, Jenny Jones, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor Dad, Dismissed, Jackass, etc. etc. adds quite a lot to the image of Americans as selfobsessed, arrogant, and dumb..
America is the biggest symbol of capitalism, democracy, wealth and freedom (can be argued) in the World today, so if people want something to complain or laugh about, then look to the state(s) where everything is bigger, faster, better, sicker etc., but often dumber and more extreme..
And when the Americans does something right, who's talking louder/more about it, and glorifying it more than the American themselves ??

i agree with trauma entirely...what makes me laugh (and a little pissed off) is when people from other countries say shit like "americans are ignorant because they dont know anything about the world outside of america"...well here's a good example that always stuck with me...one day i was talking to mauzip about all of this shit...like a year ago. and he was like "americans are ignorant...you dont even know you're geography overseas" and i was like "no, not all of use are like that...most of us do know our geography but its not like we memorize every little place" and he was like "well thats ignorant" and this convo started because of the war so i was like "we know all the places we are at in the war(s) and whatnot"...at that point he was like "yeah but you guys dont know anything other than that" so i said "i bet before you moved to the US you didnt know the geography of all 50 states"...his reply was "no but i knew all the important ones, texas, california, etc..."...i laughed so hard...so we are ignorant for not knowing the geography of a place we've never been to. but the place he lived for a year or more he still didnt realize that every state has just as much importance as another. im not tryin to diss mauzip im just sayin i hear a lot of stupid shit like that. and its rediculous. people have this preconcieved notion that americans are just a bunch of ignorant assholes...and its not true.

and i can honestly say from my experiences that americans are far from the dumbest people, we're far from the most racist, and we're far from the most arrogant!
the amount of intellect i've experienced is about the same....the dumbest people though i'd have to say out of that bunch would have to be the french canadians as well as the rudest.

i remember when i was in canada when my grandma got cancer my step uncle was flacking me all the time "you americans are so full of yourselfs....you should be more like canada where we have free medical care and lower crime rates" all i ever heard him talk about was shit how arrogant americans were and how "superior" canada was to the US.........at the time i was just irritated and pissed that he hastled me like that....but when i think about it , HOW HYPOCRITICAL AND IRONIC WAS THE SHIT HE WAS SAYING?!

But I'd rather live in the US to be honest. I think it's a great country. I'm actually trying to move there in 2 years. First I'm gonna finish college and then I'm gonna try to find a job over there :)

hey smart guy (are you american?) I didn't say people are dumb because they come to me for help. I said I run a business which is in the service sector. I encounter people all the time. I have had many service jobs, in which I deal with people all the time. Never did I say people are dumb for using the service. I have plenty of variables. I'm talking about people just not thinking in general and having no common sense. You obviously don't understand. How in the hell would you know any experience I have had with another person? You don't. My opinion is that in general, Americans are dumb. You cannot say that is not true, because its my opinion, and I am the one judging the people. me and you could have a totally different meaning of what a dumb person is. I have no tolerance whatsoever for dumb people, so it doesn't take much for me to consider them dumb.

yea it is pretty ignorant to say we dont know anything outside of the us.....why would i care about politics in turkey or what they are doing in angola..I could give a rats ass what they are doing...and geographically i can name all the big countrys over there but i couldnt name all the southwest asian countries that change names every 10 years.

^^^^^^ agian, I'm not talking about being educated in ways of knowing how to do things such as work on a car, or build a house, or work for nasa. I'm talking about simple common sense things, and people just not thinking in general. I didn't want to give any examples, but since you cannot understand here it goes:
I run a moving company. I do not own a big truck, and so people rent a u haul, or a penske, and then me and my crew do the labor. In my ad, it specifically says that I do not provide a truck, and that the customer needs to. So I have this lady that I am moving right. I talked to her on the phone multiple times, sent her contracts in the mail, and had everything set up. So the day of the move I get to her house and I don't see any trucks parked anywhere. She comes out all laughing and she's like "hee hee hee! I forgot that I needed to get a truck! Hee hee hee! I'll go get it right now!"
I charge $40 an hour. It took her over an hour to go get the truck, and I had to charge her for that because I was supposed to start at a certain time, and it is not my fault she didn't have her shit together.
Gee, who would think they you need a truck to move?
Now that is just one lil example. I could go on all fuckin day w/ examples like that where people are just not thinking at all or don't have any common sense.
You did not prove that all people are dumb in their own ways. Not being able to hop right into the NASA program does not mean you are dumb, nor does not knowing how to build a house. You have to learn those types of things, you have to get educated in that dept. Being dumb, is when you don't think, when you are not logical, when you don't use any sense.
someone who is driving on the freeway, and the E light is lit up. They see a sign that says gas, right when their E light comes on, and they also see a sign that says Next Gas Stop: 75 miles. This person decides not to stop and fill up at the gas station right there, but rather try to get to the one 75 miles away. That is dumb.
Someone driving a truck, and they get into their driveway, which is a steep hill, and they are going up it. Halfway up the driveway, something happens to the truck and it breaks down. So they decide to put it in neutral and push it the rest of the way. Guess what, your going up a hill. Guess whats gonna happen to your truck? That is dumb.
Someone goes into a jewelry store and is looking around and talking to the owner. All of a sudden they put on a mask, pull out a gun and rob the store. Guess what? The owner already got a great look at your face. That is dumb.
Someone owns a mint condition MIckey Mantle rookie card. They give it to their 3 year old son. That is dumb.
Someone pays $50 a month for a gym membership, which goes month by month. They haven't worked out in the last 4 month, yet they keep paying the membership. That is dumb.
Someone is mowing their lawn. As they are mowing, a stick get caught up in the lawn mower. They try to remove it, without turning off the engine. That is dumb.
Someone not knowing calculus is not dumb. Someone not able to perform brain surgury is not dumb. Someone who cannot build their own car is not dumb.
Someone trying to see if they can survive a jump off the empire state building is dumb. Someone with no job, who buys $5,000 worth of crap in one day on their credit card is dumb.

Hey, my philosophy is what I eat don't make you shit and vice versa. People seem to want to know how every American thinks about foriegn countries. If we meet someone on the street that isn't from here, we're usually cool with that person.
Let me give you an example. About six years ago my neighbor was involved in a nanny program. Someone from England would come over and stay in her house for a year or two and in exchange for coming over they would be like a nanny to the kids.
That's how I met Stuart. He was one of the coolest motherfuckers I have ever met. He told me a lot about Europe and the shit he did and the motherfucker even taught me how to roll a english spliff. (4 rolling papers, herb, rolling tobacco = :) )
He didn't talk no crazy shit about American imperialism to me it was just a cool atmosphere hanging out with him.
