Do any of you know where the word thug came from?
It came from a religious group in India called 'Thugee'(or something like that). There was a religious group that practised and believed in killing people. Kind of like sacrificing for their God.
When the British took over India. They discovered this Religious group and took the name from them. And the British started calling anyone who is a murderer or a criminal, a 'Thug'.
Learnt this in History and found it interesting. Just thought i would share it with yall.
