FYI If you think Dre's royal status in the rap game excuses him from feeling pressure, think again. The good doctor plans for Detox to be nothing short of another stone cold classic. "I wanna put like 12 or 13 songs on my album," he says. "And have 12 or 13 singles. So I'm really taking my time with each one. No album fillers or nothing like that. No fast-forwarding."
Streets Wanna Know Why does Dre take so long to create albums?
"I don't really consider myself an artist," he says. "I'm a producer. So I wanna produce new artists. I took a little break and produced the 50 album, then I did the Obie Trice album and D12. I just like producing, so it takes quite a bit to get me to go in and do something on

bad news if its true, this album is unlikely to come out before summer 2005. and those guests he listed are not who i wanna hear on a dre album :(

Seems like we'll have to wait even longer on this album...I was hoping for a 2004 release.

I wasn't waiting on this to drop anytime soon, just been waiting on news about what Dre plans to do. Now I just know he's getting started with it, so ain't still getting my boxers in a bunch waiting for it to be released. But this is good news, he's making it. And I wouldn't pay much mind to the guests or producers mentioned there, you know how things change quick. Never know which song gets on the album and which ones a dropped out.

looking foward to this...i hope there isn't any eminem production on it though...i'd prefer if it was at least 80 percent dre and melman, peace.

Haha. I remember when info was posted about Daz on how he was working with JD, Mariah Carey, Killa Mike, and janet Jackson everybody was sayin' how it was coo' he was doin' big thangs and what not. But now that Dre is workin' with Mary J Blige and Eve he's whack. Again...haha.
