As some of you already know, yesterday terror stroke Madrid, Spain. More than 200 dead and more than 1500 injuried. 13 bombs were placed in 4 train wagons and were detonated while the trains stopped at some stations. It's still uncertain who carried the attacks, main suspects are ETA, a Basque terrorist group, but authorities don't rule out the possibility of it being carried by AlQaida in response to spanish support to the US in Iraq.
Being born and living in Spain, I am shocked by all the horror taking place in my country. We've never lived anything like this. While ETA has been killing people in Spain for more than 20 years, a tragedy of this caliber never had happened before. Though I live in Barcelona, I -as everyone in Spain- am horrified by all of this taking place. We are living our particular 9-11.
Please, keep the victims and their families in your prayers. Thank you.
God bless.

yeah, i heard today. Apparently the ETA had never struck in an area with a lot of civilians, but rather near government buildings. This terrorist act surprises me, but doesnt' shock me. I think the Basques should at least get a little bit of their own land, after all, even if it's detrimental to Spain's economy. I know they have the best beef and wine, but u can compromise that, can' u? At least you won't have to deal with the ETA anymore.

It sucks. What can you do? People do incredibly unproductive things in the world today, this shit just sickens me.

Yeah it's a real fucked up situation. Hopefully Al-Quaeda will be stopped soon, didn't Iran say they have Bin Laden?
May the victims Rest In Peace and may the blessings of Allah be upon their families.

Do they know for sure it was Al Quezzy?
I don't think it's 100%, but it seems to be.

My last name is Olague, which is Basque, and I learned all about the Basque history growing up, and their struggles against the Spanish. It wasn't a shock to hear the Basque name come up with the bombings, but I didn't think they actually did it. Al-Quaeda supposibly did it, and the tapes has Moroccan accents, which is interesting to know. Has Al-Quaeda expained to other parts of the Islamic world?
R.I.P. to the people that lost their lives.
