Title: Snoop Dogg Presents...Welcome to tha House
Post by: That_Cracka_J on August 22, 2002, 10:28:16 AM
Snoop Dogg Presents…Welcome to tha House, Vol. 1

1. Intro
2. Dogg house America…The production is bangin’, but not much of Soopafly or E-White is heard.  There is too much talking in the middle of the song and Kokane’s hook leaves a lot to be desired.  3.5/5
3. Not like it was…Snoop opens up with a dope verse over the laidback 70’s-like pimp production.  E-White and Soopafly put down decent verses, but the RBX verse stands out.  Hook is strange, but sounds good.  3.5/5
4. Fallen star…Gangsta production and the track is by LaToiya Williams.  Not a great display of her singing capabilities.  3/5
5. Doh’ doh’…Soopafly, Snoop, and E-White trade verses over a laidback beat.  Kokane appears for a somewhat catchy hook.  4/5
6. Doin’ it bigg…RBX and E-White go back and forth spittin’ lines.  The beat is average and a bit repetitive, but X’s and E’s lyrics are tight.  3.5/5
7. Nite L.O.C.s…Loud, bangin’ production.  A solo Kokane song.  His lyrics and singing lacks compared to what he is capable of doing.  His last few lines of the track are dope and the hook is dope as hell.  4/5
8. Are you ready?…A two-verse Soopafly track.  Lyrics on point and the beat is tight.  Not much to the hook, but it sounds good.  3.5/5
9. Hey you…Track has a heavy 70’s feel to it.  Soopafly, E-White and Snoop appear on the track.  Decent verses, but nothing noteworthy.  3.5/5
10.   Raised on tha side…Kokane finally lays down a verse.  It’s short, but dope.  Soopafly, E-White and Daz lay down some tight verses and Snoop has a perfect chorus.  4/5
11.   Don’t fight the feelin’…Boring beat.  Verses by Snoop, Cam’ron, Lady May and Soopafly are average and Nate Dogg’s hook is weak.  3/5
12.   Unfucwitable…Rage rips the track with three lyrically tight verses.  The beat isn’t that good, but her vocals make it irrelevant.  3.5/5
13.   The strong will eat the weak…Production is simple, with a gunshot in the loop.  The beat fits perfect with the song content.  RBX and Snoop rip the track up and Kokane lays down a great hook.  4/5
14.   Just get carried away…More of an R&B track.  Snoop appears for the first verse, which is dope.  The production is hard hitting.  Reo Varnado and Vinnie Bernard on the track as well.  3.5/5
15.   It feelz good…Latoiya Williams solo track.  She sings well on the R&B track, but the beat is too slow for my taste.  3/5
16.   Don’t make a wrong move…Decent production.  Special Ed appears for a tight verse.  Snoop and Prodigy also lay down some good verses and Kokane provides a tight hook.  3.5/5
17.   Bitch’s treat…Soopafly and LaToiya Williams on the track.  Soopafly sounds off beat with the awful production and LaToiya Williams also gets annoying.  1/5
18.   Trouble…R&B love song.  Vinnie Bernard is on the track, who sounds similar to Nate Dogg.  Good for a R&B track.  3.5/5
19.   Squeeze play…A good gangsta track featuring Snoop, Too Cool, Young Buc and J-Dog.  Leicy Loc sounds good on the hook.  I would have liked to hear her lay down a verse.  3.5/5
20.   Light that shit up (Endo)…Soopafly, Snoop, RBX and Kokane appear on the album’s last track.  Everybody’s verses are tight except for Kokane’s chorus-like end to the song, which is below par.  The production is good.  4/5

OVERALL…3.5/5

A good compilation, but lyrics and production both lack a bit.  Soopafly and E-White are decent rappers, but nothing really makes them stand out.  RBX has some great verses as well as Snoop.  Kokane’s hooks for the most part were not very creative and not executed efficiently except for a few tracks.  I would have liked to see more solo tracks from all the artists and not two from LaToiya Williams.  Still, there are enough good tracks that surface that make this a good album.

I disagree with damn near everything, especially ''Fallen Star''. LaToiya's voice sounds incredible.

First off--You cant compare a compilation to a solo artist record.  Compilations are hit and miss as always.  I however feel that this is a very strong CD.  Im lovin the Kokane shit as well as Vinnie Bernard.  I also think that E-White is good and Soopafly is off the hook.  The only songs I fast forward are Latoya Williams--though Fallen Star is okay for what it is.  I think a 3.75/5 is a fair rating.

This is actually one of the better compilations I have ever bought, for example Daz's Who Ride Wit Us was pure crap, I regret buying it used for 8 bucks, Iam gonna sell it tomorrow to get some new cd's too >:(

Damn, you cannot be serious, Daz's Who Ride Wit Us is much better than this. How you can even compare them I really don't know.

as a big DPG fan I already had practically all of the songs, he just renamed a few and mislead buyers,
I seriously bought because of the "Get Yo Walk On remix"
Who ride wit us vol.2 is an album Iam definitely not picking up either >:(

I basically agree with Cracka_J. It's a nice compilation, but I was disappointed and it already got quite played out for me
