DFC – Things in the Hood
1. A piece of mind…Intro done by Bushwick Bill. Evil shit. 4/5
2. Put your locs on…Has a real west coast feel to it. Gangsta lyrics. Tight hook. 4.5/5
3. Caps get peeled…Laidback song with MC Eiht. It definitely has the MC Eiht feel. 4/5
4. Mo love…Another west coast influeced production. Good lyrics and hook. 4/5
5. Things in the hood…Straight gangsta beat with Nate Dogg singing the hook and a Snoop Dogg sample. 4.5/5
6. Pass the hooter…Featuring Warren G. Hard bass. Tight flow. 3.5/5
7. 2-2 the chest…A+ hook. Kinda sounds like Kokane. Dope song. 4/5
8. Death B-4 dishonesty…Good beat and decent lyrics. 3.5/5
9. Hands on my 9…Hook has an R&B/gangsta mix to it. Bumpin’ song. 4/5
10. Roll with the clan…Sounds like a party song. One of the weaker points of the album. 3/5
11. Digga bigga ditch…Almost sounds like a Dr. Dre produced song. Dope hook. 3.5/5
12. You can get the dick…Smooth ass track. Lyrics flow well over the track. 3.5/5
13. Da bomb…Beat sounds a bit repetetive and the lyrics are somewhat weak. Weak hook. 2/5
14. Things in the hood remix…A total remix with some new lyrics and beat. Has a ‘happier’ feel to it instead of the gangsta feel. 4/5
OVERALL…7.5/10
A very under-rated album. DFC is from Detroit, but the whole CD has a west coast sound. All gangsta tracks with some very well thought of hooks. Well put together album.
