Some1 told me theres a difference between Latinos and Hispanics...wats the difference??

latinos and hispanics are terms made up by the whites....a latino is someone of latin decent...i consider myself a latino...hispanic is someone of spanish decent...since most of my family resembles indians i dont consider myself spanish...thats how i break it down

True, both words are made up by white. Latinos are people that actually speak a Latin language, 'cause I know some French and Italians call themselves Latin too. The American government made up the word Hispanic, 'cause they didn't know what to call us. I consider myself Native American, 'cause no matter what part of the Americans we are in, there were people native to that land, therefore all Indians from Canada to Chile should be Native Americans.

I feel I'm Hispanic cuz I speak Spanish. As proud as I am of my Aztec heritage.. I still got some spaniard blood in me, and I speak tha language, so I'm proud to be Hispanic.
and it's like white people look at me like I'ma Latino. Latino's look at me as a Mexican/Salvadoreno. Mexican's and Salvadorenos look at me as a Chicano, or Pocho.
So I'm whatever you want to call me. It's all tha same to me, cuz matter what I'm alwayz Brown & Proud.

thats odd cuz my ex-gf's parents were from El Salvador and she considers herself Hispanic and her best friend's parents are from Nicaragua and she considers herself hispanic...

im from honduras as is all my fam...only one of my cousins says hes hispanic cuz hes hateful and cant stand injins...but many people dont know that white made the term hispanic and latino...for me its easier to say latino cuz i say im honduran and theyre like huh?...its either that or central amercian so i say the easiet thing....

I forgot which president it was, but he wanted a term to call brown people from the Americans, and it not be Native American, so they decided with Hispanic, and the rest of the American countries followed. And I'm like Criminal too, white people say I'm Mexican, Mexicans say I'm Chicano, so I call myself Chicano, but in college in Minnesota, no one knows what a Chicano is, so it's hard to explain, and I really feel all Latin people should unite more than seperate, like Mexicans, and Cubans, and Brazilians, and everyone in Latin America, plus Native Americans from the United States, 'cause we are all one big brown family. But a president wanted a term, and it has caught on, not that I dislike the word Hispanic, it's cool for ID, but I would prefer we could be like blacks and Africa, where they can be people from their own land, and Asians and their land, 'cause I know of no place called Hispanica, only the big land mass known as America.

LOL... I was born in the U.S., so some Mexicans say I'm Chicano, though not as much as when my dad was growning up. Mexican vs. Chicano was in full swing then. Oh well... I'm just Brown.
