Kurupt – Space Boogie
(http://images.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov200/dre800/e817/e81758krp6x.jpg)
A song by song review, followed by a quick summary and an over all rating.

Track 1. An Intro
Nothing special, an intro, I don’t think its important for me to review this, one of you can if u want.

Track 2. - Space Boogie
This is really one of the best tracks I’ve heard in a long time. The beat is bangin, kurupt delivers some great lyrics, and the lack of a real hook… yet the presence of a repeated but variated line, gives it a very original feel. In my opinion it was the perfect way to start off the cd. Nate dogg delivers a great performance as always also.
5/5

Track 3 - Hate on Me
This track is difficult to explain, Its not great, but its still a good song. The chorus is very catchy. The verses are good, I found kurupts a little… it seemed like something was missing. Overall still a good song.
3.5/5

Track 4 – On the Grind
This is another great Kurupt – Daz collaboration. It features some of that great back and forth flow that has established them as one of, if not the best, Duo when it comes to colloborations.
4/5

Track – 5 It’s Over
My opinion of this track is constantly changing, The hook is incredibly catchy, the beat gets your head bopping but in my opinion its one of the… worse tracks on the cd. It seems like it will get old fast.
3/5

Track 6 - Can’t Go Wrong
Great song, right up there with Space Boogie as one of the best on the cd. Good Catchy hook by Butch Cassidy and great Guest verse by DJ Quik
4.5/5

Track 7 – Onsite
This track seems to get better as it goes along, starts off a little questionable, then the hook comes in and the song drastically picks up. Kurupt’s lyrics improve and the song gets you hyped, an incredible hook in my opinion. Good song
4/5

Track 8 – Summertime
A decent. Track, I really don’t have anything to say about this track, I don’t find anything special about it. A couple people I know love it, and some hate it. But, as for me, its not one of my favorites.
3/5

Track 9 – The Hardest
All I can say is great song, Great verses by Nate, Ren, X, and Kurupt, Funky hook, and a great beat. I don’t see anything to take away from this song. One of the best on the cd in my opinion.
4.5/5

Track 10 – Gangstas
Another good Daz – Kurupt colloboration, nothing else really to say, good not great verses, the hook is a little questionable. But overall a decent song.
3/5

Track 11 – Bring back that G Shit
Currently my favorite song, Awesome!. Funky as hell, dope verses, catchy as hell, I really cant say anything bad, and cant say enough good things aobut this song.
5/5

Track 12 – Lay It On Back
I might get some heat for my opinion of this track. But its just my opinion so you can think what you want. Kurupt delivers a good verse to start off the song. The chorus comes in, Then it goes to Fred durshts verse. In my opinion the beginning his verse is very weak, it starts to pick up, then starts to fall, which is when kurupt comes in at the end. Nate delivers a great verse as always though and elevated my opinion of this song.
3.5/5

Track 13 – Just Don’t Give a F*ck
This song is questionable, Kurupts verses are good I guess, the chorus is a little weak. And the DJ leathal beat seems over produced a lot of instruments are in this beat and it creates  a messy feel for the song
2.5/5

Track 14 – At it Again
Hard to describe it’s a real party song, has a jumpy feel to it, Just gets ur head boppin.
Personally I love the track.
4/5

Track 15 – Kurruption
Probably will be some mixed feelings on this track,  but being a huge fan of everlast I believe this is one of the best songs on the cd. Good verses by kurupt and Everlast does a nice hook and verse himself.
4/5

Track 16 – Da World
I don’t really have much to say aobut this song, its nothing special, nothing horrible, sounds alright I guess, though, an average song.
3/5

Overall this is a great cd, i dont wanna say classic, we cant tell yet, it is definatly worth the money, ANy rap fan should own this cd.
Overall rating 8.4/10, could go higher as it grows on me, is still pretty new :)

haha thanks for reading, its pretty long eh :P

I cant stand that song its over.  I thougt hate on me was a tight track,  before the cd came out peeps were sayin they heard tha everlast track an it sucked.  That song is personally one of my fav,  my other favorites have to be space boogie, cant go wrong,  the hardest , and bring back that g shit.  It would of been nice to see Dre on this CD in some way,  but no bigggie, tha cd is still tighter than a virgans ( did i spell this right) pussy.  Right now its to hard to tell if its better that Tha streetz

You're review was alright but you need to be more specific.

You mentioned Dj Quik had a guest verse on "Can't Go Wrong" but you didnt even mention he produced it. As a matter of face.... you didnt fill us in too much on the production..... how can you review "Space Boogie" without saying Fred Wreck's name atleast ONCE in the review?.... he produced 7 of the songs!

And I'm still tryna figure out how you gave "Hate On Me" and "It's Over" the same rating..... "Hate On Me" is like 10 times better. "Just Don't Give A Fuck" 2.5?... I agree it's kinda shakey but still better than "It's Over"

And this is kind of off subject but.... what's up with your guys' rating points? 8.4? 8.8?..... Why not just live a lil dangerously and give a full blown 8.5 or 9.0?

Seriously, you all should try to just give out Whole Numbers or .5's..... the way you guys do it, there could be 100 different ratings.

Bonus Tracc 1."The Life I Live" - 4.5 Very Dope, and deep song about his life. One of his bests...Shouldn't have made it a bonus tracc

Bonus Tracc 2."Bitches" - 3.5 Nice song, could have used a much better beat, but still nice...

My Kurupt cd has "The Life I live" featuring Krook as a bonus track. I got it from best buy. I haven't even heard the whole album yet. I only had the chance to hear about half of it. Sounds good so far. I'll put my review up soon.

Here's my short review on this album...
1. Intro
2. Space Boogie- 4.5/5- beat is on some next shit and Nate adds to the song.
3. Hate on Me- 3.5/5- nice simple beat by Soopafly
4. On The Grind- 3.5/5- Good old Dpg shit but we've heard this song before
5. It's Over- 3/5- not totally wack
6. Can't Go Wrong- 4.5/5- Pure dopeness by Quik(does this guy ever make a wack beat?) and an equally tight guest verse.
7. On, Onsite- 4/5- Kurupt rips this track up ala Streetz iz a Mutha style.  Dope.
8. Summertime- 3.5/5- Ok track kinda pop/r&b feel to it with Jon B providing the hook.  A tad better than It's Over.
9. The Hardest Muthafuckas- 4.5/5- One of the tightest tracks on the CD.  Fred Wreck provides a dope Dre style kinda similar to Buck-em by Snoop.  Nate is classic and Ren and X to the Z rip shit up.  Kurupt has the weakest verse of the three, but still ok.
10. Gangstaz- 3.5/5- more good old DPG shit.
11. Bring Back that G shit- 4.5/5- Fred Wreck provides more dopeness as Kurupt and Snoop who's flowing more close to Doggystyle these days rip up this track.  Only drawback is Goldie who put me to sleep.
12. Lay it on Back- 4/5- Fuck the haters, Durst sounds dope on this.  Well maybe not dope but he is better than average and provides a cool hook.  Nice.
13. Just Dont give a Fuck- 4/5- I'm feeling this shit, Lethal does a nice job.  Wee just don't give a FUCK!!!
14. At it Again- 3.5/5- Damn this sounds like some shit Will Smith would do, recycle an old Disco hit and drop some party rhymes.  Not too bad.
15. Kuruption- 4/5- this song grew on me, Everlast does his usual thing and Kurupt drops some meaningful lyrics.  If you don't like Everlast then this songs not for you.  I don't mind him though.
16. Fuck Da World- 4.5/5- Kurupt once again takes us back to Streetz as he completely tears this track up.  Dope way to end the album.

Overall- 4 mics
Kurupt drops a nice followup to the classic Streetz iz a Mutha album.  Obviously an attempt to crossover with songs like Sunshine and It's Over, but Kurupt proves that he can still rip it up with tracks like Fuck the World and Onsite.  The real story of the album though is the beats, as this is the best produced west coast album since 2001.  Fred Wreck just keeps getting doper as he does his best Dre impersonation, and Daz is his usual dope self.  Even DJ Lethal drops a dope ass beat and Fred Durst has a more than decent guest appearance.  DJ Quik might have the dopest beat on the album though on Can't go Wrong...

im i the only one a little dissapointed with this.. its not as good as streetz...there is too many wack songs....its over, lay it on back, summertime,  just dont give a fuck, and kuruption all are not even 3/5 if that and i cant stand to even listen to them...i cant believe its over is the first single and im even more shocked when i hear that summertime will be the next....plus i cant believe he put on tha grind in this album...its dope but what if you already have raw??  another song to skip over i guess...and it kinda pisses me off about all the different bonus tracks floating around...why not just put them on the album..its sounds like he's desperate to sell records...however i do like the rest of the album...especially space boogie, hate on me, cant go wrong and bring back that g shit all are what this whole album should've been like...so i give it a 6.5/10  hey 1/3 of the album is no good.
