I remembering waking up at 6am and seeing that there was a fire in the World Trade Center, or at least that's what the news reported. But you could see a huge gaping hole in the building so you knew it wasn't just a fire. When the second plane hit, I couldn't believe it, my heart sank. Then the Pentagon jot jacked up and then stuff was happening in Pennsylvania. I wasn't even gonna go to school because no one knew what was gonna get hit next. People were scared that downtown LA was gonna get hit.

That whole day.....nah, the whole week was surreal.

they didnt tell us in school,  they got on the loud speaker an said something went down at the twin towers an they would keep us informed.  Seniors are not allowed out for lunch today an no1 is allowed to leave the school untill 2:30 unless your parents come an pick you up.  After that they siad nothing.  I found out as soon as the class ended b/c a teacher was in the hallway ballin sayin 2 jumbo jets were hijacked an flew into the twin towers kamikazee style.  i stuck around for 2 more periods an than snuck out a window on the first floor an went home an my face was glued to the tv all day.  It was the craziest shit i had ever seen.  See one thing people dont understand is it hit new yorkers extra hard.  Even new yorkers that are anti US it hit them hard b/c we grew up with the towers. Thats something most of you could never understand.  Millions of new yorkers were able just to look out there window an watch it live.  Too new yorkers this wasnt about terroism an crooked US  policies,  it was about i dunno i cant put it into words lol.  Its funny in a way tho,  b4 9/11 every1 would bitch about how ugly the towers were lol.

I woke up @ like 9:30 that day, or something, like that, and took a shower, got ready, went out, and got in my car.  I started driving to work, and turned the radio on, and as I was driving over the bridge by my house, the woman on the radio was like "Apparently the jets were filled with fuel, there was a huge explosion, and basically, that's why both of the twin towers are lying in downtown manhattan this morning"

and I thought "SHIT"  It was just all out of nowhere.  I figured the towers fell over or something, lol.  I couldn't figure out what they were talking about, and then by the time I got to work, I had heard more about it.  They were talking about how the firefighters had just ran up into the tower and everything, and how the towers had collapsed with many of the firefighters inside, and I felt really strongly proud of them for that.

Then when I got to work, we just sat around and watched it on T.V. all day.  My boss's sister is a cop in NY, and she was getting off her shift about the time it happened.  Nobody had heard from her, and he kept calling home all day, finally, that night, they figured out she had been down helping @ ground zero all day, and was fine.  I wasn't afraid or anything, I knew it was an isolated incident, but when they were talking about the other 2 planes, it was like watching a movie or something.  Watching the President's travel, and later seeing the video of Air Force One complete with a fighter jet escort flying back to washington so the president could speak from the Oval Office that night was incredible, too.  Just lots and lots of vivid imagery from that day.

I was out drinking the night before, and so I was sleeping in. I had my phone on silent, but it kept hearing that vibrating sound go off so I was really pissed. I figured I'd better see what the deal was and why people were calling me so early, and it was my mom. She told me to turn on the TV and I did.  :-\ I watched it for like 4 hours then I decided to go back to bed and hope it went away...

i was in school, switching classes, and they rushed everyone into the auditorium. They turned on the tv (onto projectors), to cnn or some shit, and we watched the news. Watched it for about 1/2 hour to an hour, and then went back to classes.

I was at first thinking how unreal this is, and i thought about the people. They started talking bout bin laden and terorism. I was just hoping that we'd take revenge on everyone who was apart of this stuff.......

Still waiting to see the head of bin laden.

I was also in school.  We got an announcement that the World Trade Center in NYC was hit by two planes.  A little later, another announcement came on saying that both buildings crashed and fell.  I saw a few people crying b/c they had family who worked at the WTC.

There was only one thing on my mind at that time: "We were just attacked.....who the fuck did this?"

I later learned it was Al-Qaida, and that fucker bin Laden...I was a freshman in high school, and I wanted to enlist that same damn day.  I was too young, of course...I was pissed off.

I just want to mention something (directed to the dumbass we all call machiavelli), but everyone can read this.

When a tragedy happens, people always remember where they were, and what they were doing. My parents still remember where they were when kennedy was assasinated, things like that stick in your mind.

Ok, I'm finished.

Don't mind the trolls.  Songs do the same thing, you associate songs strongly with where you were @ certain moments in your life.  There's a country song that goes

"Ain't it funny how a melody, can bring back a memory?"

Where was M Dogg... asleep with his girl until she heard the TV was too load next door so she made him get outta bed and ask the guy to turn down the TV, then he saw the second plane hit was like oh my god.

What did M Dogg think... oh shit, it's on and popping now. He couldn't believe that someone had done this, and was trying to figure out what to think for the whole day. As the day went on, and more information was found out, the first responds was, well, Afganistan has got to go, it will be a long and brutal war because the Afgans are a strong people that fought off every invader they've had, but we have got to win this war because killing that many people can't go unanswered.

What does M Dogg think now... Why in the blue hell are we in Iraq, I understand Afganistan, but Iraq seems to be a ploy since we can't catch a muthaphukka that's 6'10" and hooked to a machine.

Like Ice Cube said, on 9/11 niggaz got patriotic, on 9/12 I said fuck it nigga, blaze the chronic.

I was totally shocked by this event. It was rainy in LA, and it made it all even more depressing. On this day a relative was also diagnosed with cancer. This day was one of the worst in my life. Rest in Peace to all the victims of the September 11 attacks of 2001

It's canada, and the part I live in has a mosque/church/sikh temple alll 1-2 blocks away from each other. Plus, my school is like 85% east-indian/arab...not much you can do about it.

But the mosque got like burned down a couple of months later, but it's built up agian.

i had sent flowers home and had them delivered to my girlfriend that morning. she said that she was watching the news and she heard the doorbell ring. when she answered the door, there was the flowers, and she read the note where i said i was going to the gulf but i'd be allright... she told me she broke down crying...

on the ship we had to wake people up and we had a huge meeting, all we knew was that it was a terrorist attack and that loads of people were dead...and i still remember this one bitch named Bunton said "why the hell are we getting woke up when some people are dying over in New York?...i don't care about that shit" and the Chief cussed her ass out right on that spot...

i still remember when the cheif took leave back to the states after the war with afghanistan....he said there's american flags everywhere you look, shop windows, cars, houses.... he said it was beautiful how everyone came together even if it was just for a little while.

Nah dogg, I never refer to myself in 3rd person. I just wanted to do something different with the post 'cause everyone knows it's a 9/11 post, and it's a very serious topic, and I wanted to post something a little lighter. After all, 9/11 was one of the few times I agreed with war, but since our lovely president has taken advantage of the situation, and that's way on the 3rd year, no one is really talking about it as much as they should, because everyone has cheapen the meaning. We are going to false wars, we have new enemies, and lost plenty of allies, and lost our own civil rights, all because people have taken 9/11 and cheapen it's meaning, made people afraid of their own shadow, their own neighbor. 9/11 was the most tragic day in the United States history, more so than any day they killed Natives, slaves or the civil war. On 9/11, thousands of innocent people lost their lives for reason they had nothing to do with, and it's our government's job to protect us from further damage, and to get the people responsible. The results was that, instead of our government taking care of us, they abused their power to take advantage of us. 9/11 is suppose to be a day of reflection, a day we look back and realize that the world around us is not as safe as we think, and it's time to move on to a future were we don't isolate people but try to do what's right for the world, because doing just for the United States has caused us great harm. But instead, people use 9/11 to scare us into obeying them. I sad day is now overexposed, our leaders took that and abused their powers and us. What was suppose to be, has now been cheapen.

I was wondering how they were supposed to know that it was a so-called "bin laden" who was behind the attacks - especially when they, however, were not able to prevent those attacks. I thought that to be really weird from the moment I heard some dude say shit about Bin Laden just a few minutes after those attacks happened. after that, I was suprised of how many things around me referred to 9/11, although I wasnt even in the US.

I totally agree with you here... except where you say it was more tragic than the day they killed Natives, slaves, or the civil war.  Killing off an entire people is pretty tragic.  Treating people like animals for centuries (and it's still going down) is tragic.  Slammin' a plane full of civilians into a building full of more civilians is tragic.

oh the events of slavery, and indian removal, and the civil war, they are were really tragic, but not in any single day did something as deadly as 9/11 happen. My grandmother is 100% native, and I can tell you, what was done to her tribe is beyond belief, but it happened over time. A nation of people reduced to 19 people in 1919, though there was no one day that everyone was killed, it was happening over time. On one day, thousands of innocent people died because we had a false sense of security, we thought we were untouchable, and we are not. With a day that everything changed, our leaders took advantage and cheapen it.

I don't want you (or anyone else) to get it twisted... I feel the same way you do about the pimpin' of the 9/11 tragic events that is going on by the US government to create fear and submission of the American people.

But as to the killing of people in a single day as opposed to over time... let us look at the two nuclear bombs dropped on Japan.  I don't know the number dead in Hiroshima or Nagasaki, but I'm sure it is way higher than the 3000 (or so) we lost on 9/11.  Most of those people were civilians too.

Shit is deep... I'm glad we talking about it.

I did say in America, but it is true, the Atomic bombs killed way more than 9/11. And the A-bombs hit large targets, they are something that Japan will never forget, and we would forget for doing. As the old saying goes though, Karma is a bitch, and 9/11 I feel is our wake up call, it was suppose to tell us that we are getting arrogent, we need to change who we are. You know the rest.. lol. But yeah, I know where you coming from. In world history, many events compare, or surpass 9/11 in terms of impact in death, the Atomic Bombs, The Night of Broken Glass, and many more.

2. his twisted logic comes up with
3. his political party supports

you know, all the various niceties about how us getting bombed by terrorists, and our children wives and businessmen burning to death in crumbling buildings is a 'wake up call' because we're 'arrogant'.

As the old saying goes though, Karma is a bitch

LOL

And to think you're gonna be a college graduate.

actually I did graduate and I am working for the San Bernardino County Schools now.

And Trauma, why was the Twin Towers targeted, and it's not because of their size. What have we done to other countries in the past to deserve this, other than train the terriorist that attacked us, funded governments that we eventually overturned and take a day that was worst the bloodiest day in this countries history, and used that as a political tool to control the people, to take away their rights and take advantage of their weakness. And if you look closely, that's what they did to you, and to the rest of the United States.

What did I not learn. I learned a lot. Considering that I came for a shitty ass high school to graduate from a high regarded college says I must have learned something. My logic doesn't seem twisted to me. It makes sense when you realize that on the other side, people are not evil, but think of themselves as a people fighting against the greatest power in the world, who they consider evil. Now when I teach, I will not teach in a liberal manner for a few reasons, one, I believe in giving people every angle I can put out there. So it's like having MSNBC and Fox News in one classroom. Two, this country is built off capitalism, and I actually agree with it. And three, I hated when teachers used to push their politics and religion in my high school classrooms, even if I was a Christian, so I am not pushing my politics and my religion to my students.

i was sitting in my room watching some news show , when they interrupted it and said a plane hit the WTC , so i told my family and when the 2nd plane hit , my dad said "this is Bin Laden" , I had vaguely heard of him because there was a rumour that Al-quaeda wanted to assasinate the leader of the Greek Orthodox church in Lebanon (I'm a Greek orthodox Lebanese) , then the entire day i  remember people saying "the muslims are finally gonna get theres now the US has realised how much they hate them"

It's just funny to see somebody claim to be so "Educated" and so "civilized" and then have a reaction like that. It proves one thing.

millions of innocent people have died by the hands of usa and i can guarantee that you haven't given a fuck...
you see... the "barbaric aspect" with me is that i dont like overtreat a specific group. And i gotta be honest... i don't cry when somebody in africa dies... i don't cry when somebody in japan dies... so why the fuck should i cry if somebody in usa dies?... remember the one min of silence in the entire world for the victims?... fuck that, i haven't had one min of silence for innocent deaths in africa, asia, sounth america or europe, .. so why usa?.... why aren't we having a onemin of silence for the innocent kids who were killed by terrorists in russia recently?...

usa have been attacking arabs for years.. and even though i don't sympathize with their reaction, i can fully understand it... in fact, even usa would react that way if the situation was the same.

Straight goods.

That was my first immediate thought, I heard the rumour in 1st period, I had a spare, this was my last year of high school. I walked into a class, and they had it on. First thing I thought was somebody did it. After half century of fuckin with dozens of countries, some one stepped up and slapped the bully. Of course, my next thought was with the casualties, because at the time no one figured it would be 3000 dead. They were talkin about 30,000. So thats fucked, truly I said a prayer for those who died and those whose turn is coming, cuz Tech knows how this world works.

As the old saying goes, if you like living, and you see something that is dangerous and life threating... run. It's not a joke, I know at the sight of a gun, even the hardest gangsta is gone. When the forest fires came here, my dad is a tough guy, and doesn't like to leave, but he was in another city within 5 minutes of evacuations. With as many people as it should have killed, it goes to show you, when something like that happens, just get the fuck out, and watch it on the news later.

The reason why not as many people died was b/c both planes hit before 9:00 am.  So a lot of people still were not at work.  Say the planes would of hit around 11:00 am we would of possibly of saw 10,000 killed.  also about the fire department an police department.  A lot more would of been saved if they didnt send them back up to there offices.  But i cant really fault them for than because how are you supposed to prepare for something like that.

true... imagion... now today's drill is what do do when someone crashes a plane into a really huge building that is suppose to be able to take the impact. This is what you do in case of this, an event that has never happened.

What is truth? Truth for most people is a perception.. rarely a reality. My truth and your truth are not the same, in fact, most peoples idea of truth is very different. As soon as opinion even remotely comes in to play truth goes out the window.
