the guy did this for a very good reason.. didnt ya'll read the banner?

he's a campaigner for a fathers rights organisation.

they're campaigning for better rights in cases like where the ex-wife / g/f or whatever runs off with the kids and denies them access.

its a big issue over here.. a lot of suicides and protests like this.

its a total discrace he should have been shot. they only threatened to shoot robin and he ran away.  i hope he gets atleast 10 years in jail. this is like 4th major security breach within a year and they have all been dressed up so its supposed to be all ok but a terrorist could easily do just the same!

I think your going a little overboard on the punishment.

So because it happens all the time he should get more years in prison?

Lemme tell you something. NOBODY would get close to the white house like that guy got to the palace.

The white house is so heavily guarded.

i bet it wouldnt have happened if the queen were there..

the police said if they weren't dressed up and carrying a banner they would have been shot.

it was obvious they were out to prove their point and not cause harm to anyone.

well the guy who gate crashed prince williams 21st briday dressed as bin laden got a slap on the wrist and used it as a starting point to launch his career as a comedian. and why do u think he wouldn't of got close to the white house? he would have been shot! we have armed gaurds but they have been pussy footing around this is the post 911 era and security needs to be taken far more seriously, also those who try to test should be severly punished, it only gives people ideas. take it back a few months these same people were in the house of commons throwing comdoms full of flour at tony blair now these guys were in court for that yesturday and they went from there to do this, they need to be made an example of.

What the fuck would they shoot him with? A Crossbow?

I guess they could just leave him stranded up there until November 4th when Bush wins the elections again, by then the flood waters would probably lead him away.

it may suprise you trauma but we do have armed gaurds they are most probably armed with mp5s, funny u should mention the flood waters the police we giving him glasses of water to try and make him come down due to need of bodily functions, although there was speculation that his bum bag was there to take care of fluids.

They shouldn't arrest him, he's Batman.

They should let him do what he wants and as a favour he has to go catch Bin Laden. Because if anyone can do it, it's Batman.

Well I'm sorry. But this isn't exactly a serious issue. I realize that the guy wants to see his kids, but he did dress up as Batman. However if you don't think my post is funny then so be it. I just posted it for the sake of it. Unless your upset at the Bin Laden reference, then I don't know what to say.

you could start with "i'm sorry", then explain why you made such an unfunny attempt at humor and take further steps to make sure things like this never happen again

Now wait a minute, I'm not going to defend my comedy. Even to me it was chuckle funy, and never ha ha funny, but I have seen much less funny things on this board. If the Bin Laden thing offends you I don't see why.

intro from their site....    http://www.fathers-4-justice.org/

Fathers 4 Justice (F4J) is a new civil rights movement campaigning for a child's right to see both parents and grandparents. The group comprises Fathers, Mothers, Grandparents, Teachers, Doctors, Company Directors, Policemen, Barristers – a complete cross section of society – all whom believe that Britain is needlessly creating a nation of children without parents and parents without children.

Fathers 4 Justice have adopted a twin track strategy based around publicity and press. Raising awareness through publicity 'making the injustice visible' and mobilising a 'dads army' – applying pressure to the system and MP's to bring around meaningful change & enforce the will of Parliament.

All children, their parents and grandparents have inalienable rights to enjoy a meaningful, loving relationship with each other woven into our social fabric for over 6,000 years. Parliament's express intention in the 1989 Children's Act was exactly this yet the child's best interest principle has now effectively become the mothers best interest. A recent judgement by Lord Justice Thorpe severing contact between a child and her father gave the green light to recalcitrant mothers that they could veto contact between children and their fathers if this made them 'anxious or depressed.' So why is the Lord Chancellor's Department failing to uphold the will of Parliament? Why is it failing families? Why is it failing our children and grandchildren?

Why Batman?  I don't get it.

Protests generally are pretty fuckin stupid.  I don't know if I've ever seen one that accomplished anything.  Lawsuits are much more effective, lol sadly.

actually, this reminds me of a program i saw on tv a while ago...i think it was one of these kind of talk shows, Kilroy or something like that, about fathers who were fighting for their rights to access to their kids etc...

anyway, there were 2 guys on the show who were wearing disguises to protect their identities...if i remember rightly they were dressed as Batman and Robin...kind of took away from the seriousness of the subject imo... ;D

wonder if its the same guys?

all its gonna do is encourage everyone else to do the same  and there should be serious repercussion to discourage future protests in this manor and the o9ne in commons was even more outrageous

and guess what it has encourage the hunt protestors now

Quote
Hunt protest halts Parliament
Parliament has been suspended after five protesters got into the Commons chamber while MPs debated whether to ban hunting with dogs.
It came as thousands of pro-hunters continued to protest outside Parliament in a mostly peaceful rally which involved some scuffles with police.

Four of the men ran out from behind the speaker's chair. Another wrestled past a doorkeeper from a different entrance.

They were chased by officials but one harangued minister Alun Michael.

Outside Parliament, police estimate there are between 8,000 and 10,000 protesters but the organisers put it at 20,000.

The four hour protest has been mostly peaceful but police have used their batons against a small minority of protesters.

MPs had been debating the Bill on banning hunting with dogs. A series of votes will be held later in the effort to hold all the Commons stages in one day.

 POSSIBLE TIMETABLE
15 Sept 2004: MPs vote
Oct: Lords debate
Nov: Bill forced through using Parliament Act
Feb 2005: Hare coursing ban
Autumn 2006: Fox hunting banned
All dates assume Commons votes in favour of ban and Lords votes against

The mass protest outside Parliament was organised by the Countryside Alliance.

Van loads of police in riot gear have been sent into the area to bolster the hundreds of officers already there, with scuffles in one corner of Parliament Square as police sought to keep demonstrators penned in and away from the House of Commons.

Some bottles and fireworks were thrown and some protesters were filmed with bloodied heads after the clashes.

The PA announcer for the demonstration appealed for calm saying: "You are doing our cause harm. We have no problem with the police."

But some demonstrators continued jostling with police and shouting angry, anti-Tony Blair slogans.

Simon Kenney, a huntsman from Durham, was bleeding from the head.

He said: "I was up at the front trying to make my point to a policeman, then he just hit me with his baton."

Westminster Bridge was also closed by a sit-down protest.

Many of the protesters wore T-shirts picturing Tony Blair with devil horns and "I'll keep hunting" slogans.

The government has chosen the path of prejudice and spite - the reaction it unleashes will be entirely its own responsibility
Simon Hart
Countryside Alliance

Ministers are proposing a motion to delay enforcement of any ban until the end of July or beginning of August 2006 after backbench pressure.
Even if it is backed by MPs, the two year delay cannot be forced through against Lords' wishes, which would leave the government with the choice of an immediate ban or no ban at all.

Ballot box protest

Rural Affairs Minister Alun Michael said it would be "perverse" for the Lords and hunting supporters to oppose a delay.

He told BBC News 24: "We want to give a bit of space for common sense for people to back off, to look at re-homing of the dogs they have at the moment for hunting purposes, to look at changing to drag hunting, to other business activities."

 HAVE YOUR SAY
This is all about class warfare and very little to do with animal welfare
Richard, England

The prime minister's spokesman said it was time to live up to manifesto commitments to resolve the hunting issue after seven years of trying to find a way to find a middle way.

Some critics say the delay is to avoid pro-hunt protests in the build-up to the election expected next spring.

The minister said the election gave opponents of a ban the chance to register their protest at the ballot box rather than on the streets.

Debate time

All the stages of the Hunting Bill are set to be debated by MPs in just one day - something which was challenged by the Conservatives.

MPs spent three hours debating and voting on the procedure before discussing the ban itself.

No date has been given for a Lords debate, but this is expected to take place in October.

 HUNTING BAN DEBATE
Baroness Golding, All Party Parliamentary Middle Way Group answered your questions in a live interactive forum

The pro-hunting Countryside Alliance says it makes no difference if there was a delay before the Bill's implementation and plans to mount a legal challenge if the ban is approved using the Parliament Act.

The chief executive of the League Against Cruel Sports, Douglas Batchelor, said that the return of the bill to the Commons was "the high point of our 80-year campaign",

He said he "simply cannot see any good reason" for a delay on implementation of a ban.
