Just got done listening to my local radio station and guess what.... Chuuch To The Palace has been the "battle of the beats" champion for 5 straight days... beating out eminem, scarface, ja rule, tlc, and today ll cool j.... the dj said this
"i haven't heard this many requests for a song since the real slim shady"
also, he thinks its pronounced Church... but everyonee calls in and says its pronounced Chuuch... then he says "i got the single right here and on the cd it says church"

I just heard the radio rip...and...it's wack. Snoop's singles have been getting worse and worse for his albums. "Snoop Dogg" I could put up with, it was nothing special. Here, Snoop just wanted The Neptunes for a hit, but these to have NOTHING to make music about. What is this song about? Churches? Palaces? He doesn't even mention it in the song. And the chorus is just 'Snoop Dogg'. This matchup is pointless, cause Neptunes and Snoop have nothing to make music about. That got nothing in common. That is why the song is bad.

Agree, this song is fuckin wack. Sadly it'll b a hit because of the Neptunes production, but this is about as bad as "Snoop Dogg". Shit, he had a bunch of bangers on the advances, yet he chooses to put out garbage like this for his first single.

I thought Quik brought tha best outta Snoop on "Tha Pussy Medley". Snoop had tha tightest verse on that song. As for "Chuuuch to the palace", it's an okay song. Tha Neptunes could've made a better beat though.

i wasnt feeling the song at first....when i first heard it I was like WTF is this?......but when u listen to it in cdq.......it sounds tight (different but tight)......lyrically he comes out clean on the track......i know the track aint no gangsta beat......but he will have those on his albums fo sho!!

I just got this in cdq.. and its way tighter in cdq. This isnt your typical Neptunes beat.. like DPG2001 and LB Snoop 21 said.. Snoop comes of hella tight.. the beat is bangin.. Im not nowhere near as mad at this colab as most of the homies. If you ask me this is a great single to set off the album.
He needed something harder then the Timbo produced first single off The Last Meal. Business wise.. this seems like the right single to release first. From a fans point of view, that iz..

I completely agree with yout there. We all have different opinions, but this is far from the best SNoop song in a while...yall must be smokin on some bad shit. Yea he comes off nice, good flow, but overall the song is trash cause the beat destroys the flow. And the hook is horrible. "WHos that Dippin in the Cadillac" was bad too but compared to this one its 10x better. I cant even listen to he beat, wether its radio q or cdq..it might grow on me though. And like Murrow said, the Neptunes-Snoop matchup is pointless. Snoop needs Fredweck, Battlecat or Meech. Neptuns matched with the Liks, cause Best U Can was off the hook, they shined on the song cause they matched 2gether. Put Snoops flow over that Liks beat, they wouldnt match either IMO

yea the beat is a simple ass beat but its got that fat ass live drum track. And the hook?? Im glad they stayed away from the typical poppy singin type of hook that you hear alot these days. They kept it simple.. gangsta.. yet commecial enough to sell. IMO.

I still think it's tight, lol. I like the beat. First time I heard it, I didn't, but it grew on me. Honestly I wouldn't mind if the whole album was on this level, I like his new direction. Everybody needs to move on once in a while, how many tracks you want him to do with dre? 4000? I mean, he's given us probably 2 dozen dope tracks produced by dre, why are yall trippin that he's done 2 with the neptunes?

we missing the point, we as westcoast fans, straight up the beat is crap, but again how many westcoast beats can be made into singles. snoops move was a brilliant one, despite the fact that it's the neptunes that beat is different & i bet you a mil, that song is going to be a hit. i would love to hear a first single from fred or meech (& please no DRE, that x single is worse than the neptunes one) but they just dont appeal to the masses for a 1st single. hopefully people will catch on if they buy the CD & realize how west producers can make hits. i gotta say though, snoops flow on this song is ridiculous, it's crazy tite. pe ;)ace
