Title: ohhhhhh fuuuuuuuuuuck
Post by: LyRiCaL_G on September 26, 2002, 01:11:02 PM
yo y'all read this!

With the first single, Eminem's "Lose Yourself," already getting heavy radio spins, the soundtrack to "8 Mile" has just wrapped up production.

Em, who stars in the movie (see "Eminem Fuels Romance Rumors, Fights Acting Jitters On '8 Mile' Set") and donated three new songs to the soundtrack, also produced much of the album, which includes Jay-Z, Rakim, Nas, Xzibit, D12 and Macy Gray. Em's Shady Records signees 50 Cent and Obie Trice are featured throughout the LP as well, highlighted by a posse cut with Marshall Mathers. (Click for photos from "8 Mile.")

According to Em's management company, the artists on the LP kept their tunes in tune with the vibe and goings-on in the film. The Gang Starr track "Battle," for instance, which features DJ Premier scratching on the turntables, was derived from a scene in the movie where the Shady one squares off against another verbal gladiator. The "8 Mile" soundtrack is tentatively slated for an October 29 release.

this means all that shit, you know the rumours, where all true! RAKIM WILL BE ON THIS CD! OH SHIT AND A NEW NAS TRACK, THIS GONNA BE ONE SICK COMPILATION

peace

Soundtracks are usually not that good.  I expect leftovers from Nas, Xzibit and Jay-Z.

I'm looking forward to seeing Em in this movie, i've seen 2 previews now and he looks like he can pull this off, which doesn't really suprise me because the film is practically based on his life  ::) Oh, and apparently in one scene he defends a gay co-worker, lol, how ironic.
