The party has now released the text of the motion which will be put before the House of Commons.
It says Tony Blair should be put on trial in Parliament over his conduct in taking Britain to war.
Plaid Cymru says impeachment - a power last used in 1806 - is the only way to hold the Prime Minister to account.
Later this month the party will present a motion to Parliament to set up a committee of MPs to investigate Mr Blair's conduct.
Carmarthen East MP Adam Price has claimed there is evidence that Mr Blair lied over the reasons for going to war.
The motion highlights his admission that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction.
And it cites the opinion of the United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan that the war was illegal.
Plaid's Adam Price says Blair must be brought to book
But the impeachment bid is doomed to failure unless Plaid Cymru can win over more MPs.
The UK Government says Tony Blair has already been cleared by four separate inquiries.
Plaid Cymru's parliamentary leader Elfyn Llwyd MP helped to draft the motion.
"The publication of the text of the motion will put to bed accusations that impeachment was nothing but a silly season stunt," he said.
"This is a real and serious course of action which we have not undertaken lightly.
"Since the publication of the report in the summer even more evidence has come to light which vindicates our position.
"If we allow Tony Blair's actions to go unchallenged, a precedent will have been set that a UK Prime Minister can deceive the Welsh and UK public and parliament and get away with it."
Plaid Cymru has said more than 20 MPs have backed the campaign for impeachment, but Labour critics have dismissed it as a foolish stunt.
The legal judgement was published on Thursday by two senior lawyers who share the same chambers - Matrix - as the prime minister's wife, Cherie Booth.
The case against the prime minister would be that in making the case against the war against Iraq he was guilty of a serious breach of constitutional principals.

It won't go through but what's funny is if it did (which it won't) Black Rod (who is the guy at the house of Commons dressed up in a ridiculous outfit from the 17th century comes into the chamber and arrests Blair in public. Gangsta.

I agree it probably won't go through. The story really just highlights how the UK is gradually moving away from supporting the US.
