aight, everybody enlisten what they think is the best beat EVER.
Not song, only the beat.
That means no mention of Ras Kass's "Nature of the threat"
and choose ONLY ONE.
I think:
"Front 2 Back" by Xzibit
Produced by Rockwilder.
Captured the Westcoast-image & sound in a amazing way.
Not because Xzibit is my fav. artist, but because the beat is str8 sick.
It doesn't wear out neither.
It's also so hard & grimey that a light-voiced rapper probably couldn't rip it.
Eminem would have to scream over it, if it was his beat.

Craig Mack - "Flava In Ya Ear" produced by Easy Moe Bee

The Let Me Ride beat off the Chronic is the illest shit ever made. It doesn't get any better then that. That beat sings to you man. It sings like know other. It sings and it's telling me, "Yo Infinite, kick the fuck back, drive your car in the sun with the windows down, and just chill out like a muthafucka" That beat makes me fucking high just listen to it...... Damn I'm trippin like a muthafucka!!!!!!!"

I could easily say "Nuthin But A G Thang," but now I think it is...
"Forgot About Dre"
The violin orchestration is catchy as fuck. The keys Dre uses fits in as a nice side note and the drums are something else. Dre didn't go with his usual "2001" drums. He used some faced past dirty south drums that went with the song and the quick rapping. Then in the middle of all that is a heavy ass metal guitar solo. Very tight. Not anyone can keep up with this beat either. Shit is hella fast paced; Dre had to speed up his rapping up a lot.
I remembered hearing it for the first time. It was like :o :) :D :o

Siccest Ever is "Nothin' But A G Thang". When that just kicks in at the end of "The day the Niggaz took over", and takes over, it's amazing.... it's layered so good, too. Best ever. It was even named the single of the 90's by Rolling Stone magazine.

Who gives a fuck about Rolling Stones. You don't even listen to hip-hop anyway, cause of the cusswords, there are beatles message boards, go check them out. But we are your only friends, so you still come here.

Intelligent, open minded individuals would be interested in knowing Nothing but a G Thang was named best single of the 90's by Rolling Stone. I see you're not interested.
P.S. - The Icy Hot Stunnaz just stopped by. They rejected your application.

Not many new beats cuz beats aren't as good nowadays, plain and simple. Shit like "Front 2 Back" and "Break Ya Neck" are nice, but best of all time? Crazy, it just prolly means you haven't listened to enough shit, cuz those beats were nothing original and very repetitive with little layering or originality.

You're right, "Break Ya Neck" (and "As I Come Back") are definitely NOT the the greatest of all time; (I probably should've specified that those are two of my favorites, and not the two that I consider to be the greatest).
Believe me, I have listened to "enough shit," so if I really had to pick only one track's production as being "the greatest," then I would probably pick Eric B.'s (and Rakim's) "Paid In Full." Pure classic.

"Front 2 Back" wasn't layered or original?
Rockwilder has made his own trademark sound, and with this beat he topped all his previous work.
The beat was very unique, and isn't a beat you tire easily of.
It's also hard as hell, there isn't many MC's in the game that could rip this track without sounding wack.
