Title: Pflöyd's Observations About Society Vol. I
Post by: Down-Nola on January 13, 2005, 09:23:00 PM
I believe that music is a great medium of expression. I also believe that hip-hop is not such a vehicle.

As much as I hate the PMRC or the idea of anyone being censored, gangsta rap has absolutely no social value whatsoever. I honestly believe that is perpetuating the idea that the only way you can be "real" in negro society is to be a criminal and never seek success outside the athletic/entertainment industry. How sad for an entire culture to expatriate their fellows because they seek to be successful through legitimate means.

I personally believe they need to make prison a completely miserable and publicly humiliating experience, instead of allowing it to become a microcosm of life in the streets.
