someone at another board heard 50 on the radio talking about he got 5 mics...if this is true, it's the worst thing that could ever happen to the state of hiphop, peace.

well, would you compare illmatic to the massacre, it's terrible...it's like comparing simple plan to led zeppelin...now i read this somewhere i hope it isn't true, candy shop and disco inferno right off the bat should take away any chance of a 5 mic album based on the fact that they are nowhere near classic songs...it's a sad day if this shit is true, peace.

Like the Source had any cred to begin with. The Source hasn't had cred since in a while now, since they started a war with Eminem, instead of being unbiased journalist. Like XXL, they called College Dropout classic, I agree, but they're cred is an issue. I can see the Source giving 50 5 mics, just so they can say, we gave 50 5 mics. It's not about hip-hop no more. The Source has turned hip-hop into politics.

might be like a mixture reverse psychology and insight. they give an aftermath cd five mics so people think the feud is over and the good ol Source is an unbiased and reliable magazine again, which helps them alot more than keeping to bash. just an assumption of course

Im not saying "The Massacre" is worthy of 5 mics, but music needs to grow. If Nas made another "Illmatic" that sounded the exact same in 2005 I would not consider it classic. I would say, "hey, doesnt this sound like something he did before"........I like 50's new album. It has some REALLY good HIPHOP tracks on it IMO. Cant call it a classic or nothing, but his album is good for hiphop in my opinion.

If the Massacre is 5 mics what is Illmatic? They gave that 5 mics. Their is a big differnce between those albums but yet(apperntly) they gave both of them 5 mics.

The Source lost it's credability a long time ago, in my opinion. With this 5 mic Massacre thing, either 50 joked around and someone took it too seriously, or the Source is finally on their knees and willing to do anything to get ahead. Most likely, someone blew 50's joke out of proportion.

I was saying that when The Documentary got 4 mics... They were dickriding the album just a little too hard imo, as if Game is the next Pac, coming out with a damn good album. They were saying things that just weren't true, probably trying to look not too biased. Anyway, as for 50's album getting 5 mics... It's probably a joke blown out of proportion, but if it's true... I wouldn't know what to say.

When i first heard the Massacre i was like what the hell is this crap, but after listenin to it a few times, i'm really startin to like it a lot. I remember when I first heard GRODT i thought it wasnt that good but then it grew on me too. There's no way its 5 Mics at all, but its definitely not a bad album. Only songs i skip evertime is the west coast song to "just ride to" and the ones that are on the radio all the time. I think after people on this board listen to the album a bit more they will come around, besides the people that straight up hate anything on Aftermath.
