Title: SETTIN YALL STRAIGHT.........
Post by: jeromechickenbone on July 29, 2002, 12:29:20 PM
whats with this new fucking trend of where people try to be all cool when they're like "i've never liked tupac i don't understand why yall think he's the goat..." i'm sick of these young ass muther fuckers talkin about shit that they don't know shit about. yes he is the goat. he got stronger with every album. then there's the people who try to be cool by sayin shit like i only liked pac before his death row days. they only reason they say this shit is to be different. i understand that those albums represent a good time in your life or whatever, but anyone who doesn't think that lyrically tupac was far superior later in his career is trippin. fuck i'm sorry about goin off but i cant stand these young ass fools talkin out there ass when they don't know what the fuck it is they're talking about. peace

No he isn't the GOAT just because u say he is. I never and still don't think he is the GOAT, so i guess i dont' know shit bout hiphop and this must mean i'm a young motherfucker hey  ::) just because someone dont' think he's the best doesn't mean that they dont' know shit u punk motherfucker. I think theres a few rappers better then 2pac and IMO Biggie Smalls is the GOAT not 2pac.

He ain't the GOAT cuz Rakim is ;D. Nevertheless I like Pac. This guy had charisma, was entertaining, etc.

biggie put out 3 cd's (2 albums) in his career. tupac did that in about a year. not to take anything away from biggie cuz i love biggie. you can't be the goat with 2 albums. and born again doesn't count. topdogg-who would you put above pac besides biggie.

nas-his first album was amazing, 2nd was ok, the next 2 sucked ass. stillmatic was ok, but people busted a nut over it because of the name. its his 2nd best album but nas is about as consistant as cottage cheese. and don't forget he's signing to MURDER INC. that fucks him right there. just playin but i really don't think he's really close at all. rakim is def a candidate. KRS is really good i don't feel like hes better than pac

This is a really stupid thing to argue about. Its all in your own opinion. Mine is... I dont think there is a GOAT yet in rap. No one has really proved to me that they are amazing on every song. And until that rapper comes we should all drop the subject. Why is 2pac the GOAT anyways. Ive yet to see anyone show proof. I like some of his music, some of it is great but if he was alive would you all think of him the same way?

Id have to say Rakim. Hes been around for a long time and he can still drop very dope verses. He hasnt fallin off. Alot of rappers get worse with age but he can rap better than most of the young rappers out now. I think hes proven hes the best in the game and hes still at it. Hes from the old school and hes got one of the most anticipated albums in hip hop coming out soon. Thats what makes him so great. Is he the greatist? Maybe not because like I said Its all in opinion.

i think biggie and pac are very over rated because they died especially biggie........they were very good rappers but imagine if snoop had died after tha doggfather, i mean everybody would be like "oh i wish snoop was still here to keep everybody straight and kick some of that real shit" the thing is we only heard them to a certain piont on there career and once they get older there music would have changed and lots of people probably would have lost respect for them while some would have still felt there shit

me personally i liked both but they were never my favorites

lol why should anybody accept that? i personally think Snoop is the GOAT but if i really had to choose the GOAT it would be Biggie. Everyone has different opinions on this topic so therefore there is no GOAT.

One thing that makes Rakim the G.O.A.T. (IMO) is that he droped SIX albums and rocked them ALONE.
How many artists say they can rock ONE album alone.  And 4 of these albums are classics IMO.

The God rarely even makes guest spots.  He's been around 16 years and he's made something like four tracks with other emcees (Mobb Deep, Noyd, Guru, WC, G Dep & Kool G Rap).  These are the tracks that I know of and can remember. (Hoodlum, The Militia (Remix), I'll Bust 'Em You Punish 'Em & I Am)

In the last ten years, I think he's been in 4 videos.

Keeping out of the commercial spotlight by choice just adds to his legendary status.

The significance of his work behind the mic would take too long to explain.

That's not what I'm saying.
That's only one reason I believe he's the best.  I just think that's another thing that separates him from the other emcees of his caliber (KRS, Kane, Biggie...)  And I think that's a good thing, not following trends.
