3 arrests made, car found..
its still suspected the bus bomb was accidental
but they have his identity and got the rest from that.
hasn't hit the online news sites yet, but its all over TV.
post more news as it comes..

however. eye witness reports from bus survivors say the guy that blew up was middle eastern in appearance.

scotland yard just did a live statement thing..
- all were british born
- 3 of men from west yorkshire (raids have been done in leeds, west yorkshire) they are trying to prove they died in the explosions
- all 4 arrived by train in london on the morning in question. they have them on film together that morning at kings cross.
- one of the men was reported by his family as missing at 10am documents related to him were found on the bus
- documents with the 3 men's details on was found at each train bombing site. some doc's with the other men's details were found at some othe scene's. (so some sites had 2 men's names).
- "material" has been found in one of the raided sites west yorkshire
- at luton a vehicle was found in the station car park
- 1 man arrested in west yorkshire
- this was DEFINITELY the work of extremists

now they haven't mentioned ethnic background, altho the eyewitness reports from the bus said the guy that blew up there looked middle eastern.
so there is no real indication of their ethnic background yet.
however the police did end saying something about how smears against communities shouldn't happen..
the solution depends upon the cause. going upon my current understanding (and assuming this is muslime related) i agree with the notion of more internal action and pressure from main stream, non extremist muslims to stop people, youngsters ending up as extremists. however from the outside it seems to be hard for the muslim community to act against it.

oh and a lot of the housing they went into in todays dawn raids was student housing now unoccupied as uni students are on summer break..

the thing is the terrorists are hoping for a backlash against muslim communities because it will give them more support/recruits amoungst british muslims. The muslim council of britain have shown themselves to be quite responsible in trying to get communities to engage with police. but i think they what really needs to addressed is the attitude problem alot of young asain men have because it really doesn't help relations between white and asain.

I never claimed to be an expert on anything. I just don't believe you can stereotype the people of an entire continent and say they have attitude problems. It doesn't take an expert to see what's wrong with that.
are you stupid? england isnt a continent. he said some young BRITISH asian men.. thats a specific group not the sweeping statement you're trying to make it.

Actually you're the stupid one, since you can't read.... he said "young asian men". Where does it say BRITISH? I know he's referring to the Asians living in Britain, but that's still implying that people of a certain origin, in this case an entire continent, have an attitude problem.

as i see it he's implying that the combination leads in some young asian men towards some them having an attitude problem.
i'm not surprised as some young white men also have an attitude problem towards asians in britain and not just the young ones.
however the opposite is of course also true in both cases...

well its easier to back track the actions of people who worked on the ground..
especially since london is majorly CCTV'd up..
the police have had 2,000 calls with helpful information to the helplines.. they have something like 2,500 CCTV tapes to go through and 115,000 calls to the casualty number (people looking for relatives etc..)

If these people came from surburbia, what's the real root behind their actions?

although none of the bombers was known to intelligence services one of the bombers was an associate of a person who _was_ known.
finally.. what is a ward? a ward is a sub-division/small area of a town. .the town councillors come from wards all over the town. these are democratically elected. they look after affairs in 'your' end of town. they're normally local to that area too, but dont have to be.

I don't get it?! If the leader of the ward knew about this, why wasn't there more law enforcment assigned to studying this problem?! If it was such a well known fact that people were coming in and recruiting, why didn't the community do something about it?
