Common had some solid tracks on that album but i think the whole album altogether was overrated just because Kanye did the majority of the production on it. I would pick Bun Bs "Trill" for album of the year.. i think he deserves it because he released it on Rap-A-Lot, and i remember reading that he was working on his album.. then a month later its already out. It didn't seem like he took that much time to make the album but it came out great. It had dope production and the best guest appearances he could possibly get, and he came correct on every track on the album i didn't feel like skipping one track on the whole album. Hell, even the track with the Ying Yang Twins is banging.

I'm not saying TSOR was bad either. Alot of tracks on that were dope too but yet, there was some tracks that didn't belong on there and just messed it up.

3. Little Brother - The Minstrel Show
4. The Game - The Documentary

as for hiphop, I wasn“t elated by anything this year. "Be" is alright, the Little Brother is pretty good

oasis
naaw. I liked the wannabe-U2 Coldplay effort more, as for Britpop, but both bands disappointed me a lil

I didn“t mean a U2 album, I said X&Y was wannabe-U2 stuff. As in they tried to be like U2 pretty hard. Well, both the Oasis and the Coldplay are more or less solid, but neither of them excited me at all. The bands that did "Morning Glory" and "Rush of Blood" could do better IMO

Album of the year? Not even remotely close iMO.

Common - Be
Cormega - The testament
Tradegy Khadafi - Thug matrix
Buckshot & 9th Wonder - Chemistry
Little Brother - The Minstrel Show
The Game - The documentary
Kanye West - Late registration
AZ - A.W.O.L.
Chief Kamachi & The Juju Mob - Black candles
Sean Price - Monkey barz

Side note: I still haven't heard the Grandmasters album yet. All those I like a whole lot better than the Chamillionaire album though.

DJ Quik Trauma
Dogg Pound Dillinger And Young Gotti II
Daz Dogg Pound Gangsta LP
Mack 10 Hustlas Handbook
Foesum U Heard Of Us (Just got it last nite, it bangs)

Haven't heard Little Brother so I can't comment on that, but Bun B's album was pretty disappointing, just generic south shit, nothing like the UGK albums.
