Bud'da

Birth Name:
Stephen Anderson

Born:
Pittsburgh

Biography:

Bud’da, born Stephen Anderson, began producing in his hometown of Pittsburgh at the early age of 13. It all began with his broken tape deck; he recalls the days when he use to put his finger inside the tape player and press rewind to create a scratching sound. His parents couldn’t afford to get him turntables so until he got them, he made it happen with what he had. He became a favorite DJ around town and played the drums for his parents’ band before making his own record on an independent label at the age of just 16. The song, “B for the Ladies”, got airplay around town gave him the confidence to pack his bags for Southern California to further his dreams.
Bud’da’s first break came while producing two songs for Kaution, a rap group executive produced by Ice Cube. Loving his production style, Ice Cube then recruited Bud’da to produce tracks for his Westside Connection album, a group that included Dub C and Mac 10. The magic was crystallized when the earth shaking title track, “Bow Down”, became an instant gold hit. The success of his contribution on this album also played an important role in defining a fresh new hip hop sound for the west coast. He would go on to develop an impressive career working with other heavy weights that included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Nas, Tank and Aaliyah. Bud’da also had his hand in the film and TV industry producing soundtracks and scoring independent films and TV shows. Several credits include Disney’s Doc McStuffin, As the Bell Rings, The Proud Family, TeenNick’s Miracle’s Boys, and Dennis Cooper’s The Heart Specialist.
Bud’da has a diverse yet impressive body of work, which includes his latest venture, an indie record label with its first artist, Eddie Gomez. He is known to be one of the humble talents in the game and he uses that valuable character trait to inspire at risk teens of the greater Los Angeles area to abstain from gang violence, drugs and teen pregnancy. Whether a gifted music producer, film/TV composer, or positive light to L.A. youth, Bud’da aspires to be great and so far he is doing just that.

Nas - Gangsta Tears
Sincere & Timbaland - Party

Bud'da produced both songs, they were both on the "Exit Wounds" OST.
