MOBB DEEP  Murda muzik review

MOBB DEEP MURDA MUZIK

1. Intro - An extract from a mafia movie. A good match here would be Raekwon's "This paper work is just fuckin' my eyes off...." - 4,0

2. Streets Raised Me f/ Big Noyd & Chinky - Some pop shit. None of this kinda shit was present on their previous one, Hell On Earth. The beat is nothing, the sung chorus is nothing. Designed for pop heads who choose a CD by listening to the first song. - 3,5

3. What's Ya Poison f/ Cormega - Well, classic Mobb Deep back again! Grimy & heavy. Cormega is unnecessary here. - 4,5

4. Spread Love - WOOOW! Sample makes me croon it aldaylong. Hav & P trade lyrics in a dopeass way. Something's wrong wit the drums tho. Hav shoulda put those bangin drums we heard on "Right back at you". - 4,5

5. Let a ho be a ho - Well this one sucks deeply. "Ho gon be ho, nigga gon be nigga, cuz I'm a nigga". SO WHATTT? - 3,0

6. I'm Going Out f/ Lil Cease - Nice sample, str8 thugg shit. "Going out like a single parent raisin' a kid". And Lil Cease is always nice to hear, like Biggie is still with us. - 4,5

7. Allustrious - Yeah! But where's the bass? Shit, nothing's ideal after Biggie died! Lyrics are some battle shit tho. - 4,5

8. Adrenaline - XTRA, XTRA GRIMY! Grimy like a rhinoceros witta hangover! Str8 bobbin ya head 2 this - feels the same as on More Trife Life, just can't stop! - 4,99

9. Where Ya From f/ 8-Ball - Hav tried to sound South here. Failed. A good relaxed track tho. - 4.0

10. Quiet Storm - Grimy & rainy. "I pop mo gunz than u holdin'em". - 4.5

11. Where Ya Heart At - SHIT! Why isn't it 10 mins long? The sample iz OUTTA DIS WORLD! "Where ya heart at? I left mine with loved ones departed." Dope as fuckk!! - 4,99

12. Noyd interlude - skip shit. - 1,0

13. Cant Fuck Wit f/ Raekwon - This track is a mistake, just like the whole Immobilarity album was. Music like this can't even be MATCHED with a Wu-Clansman, it's too microscopic for Raekwon. - 3.5

14. Thug Muzik f/ Infamous Mobb & Chinky - A real solid track just like GZA's Victim. - 4,5

15. Murda Muzik - Some dope shit. A good choice for a title track - 4,5

16. The Realest f/ Kool G Rap - The sample is weird. Thug shit from Kool G saves the track. - 4.0

17. USA (Aiiight Then) - Shit, itz too fast for Mobb Deep. They try to talk global here, but you know only Nas can do it proper. It's a failure. - 3,5

18. It's Mine f/ Nas - They shoulda put him on #4 instead of here! That's what we call Nas syndrome - the lyrics somehow remind us of who he was, but da beat is str8 commercial ass-shake shit. Worse than the worst. The video sucks too. - 2,5

19. Quiet Storm (remix) - The same as the original, only Kim performs the chorus. But the prostitute's wack as always, so the track is unnecessary. - 3,0

This LP is def WORSE than The Infamous and Hell On Earth, becuz unlike those it's infected with some pop shit. Still a rather buy than not buy. Highlites of the album are Spread Love, Adrenaline & Where Ya Heart At. Shit stains are ## 5, 18 and 19. The album leaves a bitter feeling under your diaphragm, so it's still some true Mobb Deep.

Nice review, but I like Murda Muzik better than Hell On Earth, and "Streets Raised Me" is a ill ass cut....I dont know how you can diss that song.

Terrible review. Great album. It’s Mine feat Nas is a classic track
