now...i know a lotta people run around hatin on the south...but thats cuz they dont know shit about the south...they see what's on tv and base their opinion soley off those songs...i can understand people not likin crunk shit...cuz well...not everyone likes to get crunk...but there is plenty of dope shit out there that everyone is sleepin on...

Crooked Lettaz...Jackson, Mississippi...since yall hate David Banner so much...check his old group...they got a song with nore...its bangin...
Botany Boyz...Houston, Texas...sometimes theyre mistaken for West Coast rappers...they have old school g-funk type beats...
E.S.G....Houston, Texas...the OG freestyle king...very dope...check his song with Slim Thug and Daz...off his album with Slim Thug...
Lil Keke...Houston, Texas....hot spitter...he was the Lil Flip of Houston before Lil Flip came and stole all his flare...but trust...hes a lot better than Flip...A LOT...
Paul Wall...Houston, Texas...one of the tightest white boys on the mic...has some funny ass lines...DO NOT SLEEP...hes gonna be the future...
Chamilion...Houston, Texas...cold...just cold...he has good metaphors...tight word play...and crazy multis...has a lotta potential...
Slimg Thug...Houston, Texas...he countered Lil Kekes anthem..."Southside"...with his anthem for his side..."Northside"...very classic...he has alotta potential in the future...
Dirty...Alabama...the bama boys...had a stong buzz with their first major album...theyre still makin tight shit tho...
Curren$y...New Orleans, Lousiana....watch for him...hes runnin with No Limit right now...but he can spit it with ANY emcee...
T-Bo...Baton Rouge(i think), Lousiana...he was C-Murders artist...then C got gaffled...so hes runnin with P...one of the coldest white boys on the mic...period...
U.G.K....Port Aurthur, Texas...first off...FREE PIMP C!...now...Bun B...one of the best emcees out...Pimp C...just an all around Pimp..great combination...best duo in the South...EVER...
8-Ball & MJG...Memphis, Tennessee...second behind U.G.K. as greatest duos ever...ran with Suave House before they went under...have a great track record...MJG is one of the tightest out right now...
Tela...Houston, Texas and/or Memphis, Tennessee...i always forget where hes from...but he spits it hot...has one of the best South songs ever...
Kingpin Skinny Pimp...Memphis, Tennessee...helped pioneer the Memphis sound...very influenced by the West Coast...was once down with the 3-6 Mafia...then ripped them on his disses...now runnin his own label...
Playa Fly...Memphis, Tennesse...easily one of the best emcees around...
Pastor Troy...Agusta or Atlanta, Georgia...its late...im goin blank...but a very deep rapper...doesnt really get very lyrical(wordplay etc)...but gets really deep...has a lot to say in his raps...

more to come later...its late...lol...if anyone wants to add on...go head...ill finish the list tomorrow
Mike Jones tight freestyler especially when he is chopped and screwed...

Freestyle Kings a tight ass group i like Charlie Boy

Big Moe he is a south version of Nate Dogg but not as good but is still good...

50-50 a tight freestyler he is kinda like Mike Jones he is bad ass...

if anybody wants songs that are chopped and screwed and that are rare holla at me... and jus go to Kazaa and type in Swisha House or chopped and screwed and u will get sum tite traccs. im out!!!

sgv.. um mike jones is trash..his potna magnificent is way better lyrically..all mike does is repeat tha same verses over and over..

big tiger- pic's blood cousin...2nd to pic in freestylin.. he put tha swishahouse on tha map,i came to wreck is tha best album ever released from tha swishahouse..period point blank.. and if wanna see some all out skills .. put him and pic together.. i guarantee these two niggas will show some versatility...

big pokey- rawest nigga in tx.. s.u.c memeber and when u got him, lil keke and hawk together man its somthin off tha hook...

dsr- these some kats out of dallas... man they some funny ass niggas .. they are creative as well.. tum tum, and fat bastard will have u rollin wit they punchlines.. and big tuck is tha lyricst of tha click..

I'm not going to read through all these posts, but I've tried to inform people of the south quite a bit on here.  Most the people on the board like that backpackin political rap shit which I can't stand.  Anyways, if you really want to hear a variety of SOuth shit, check out the DJ Jelly mixtapes.  You can find them all over IRC.  He makes actual mixtapes.  Not just compilations of songs from a bunch of east coast artists.  They are mostly of Southern artists too.  What's wrong with having Gold teeth?  Saw someone makin fun of that.  Ya'll so cool behind your computers.  Other south acts to check out....

3-6 mafia of course and the whole Hypnotize Camp Posse

T-rock
AL Kapone
MC Mack
Lil Corb
Grim Gottie
Playa Fly and Kingpin Skinny Pimp (Memphis vets)
Crimanal Manne
DJ Squeeky
Krucifix Klan
old DJ paul and Juicy J underground cds if you can find em.

Too much shit to name, but i used to listen to only west coast for the longest time.  You might remember I started dreday.com  That shit just started soundin the same and the production is just not that innovative or catchy.  I'll listen to some of the popular shit but the southern shit occupies my speakers most the time.

Reese & Bigelow....Jackson, Mississippi...theyre a duo thats been down for a long time...they hopped South remix for the Bonecrusher single...it was doin good in the South...but didnt get much exposure out of there...but theyre not just crunk rappers...check them...

Mddl Fngz...Houston/Port Aurthur, Texas...this is Bun B's group....very tight...if u like UGK you'd like them...theyre more on a gangster tip then UGK...but they do it nicely...

Oomp Camp...Atlanta, Georgia...this is where Baby D is from...hes the new up and coming South artist...he was just featured in the Source...since hes signed to a major now...Hitman Sammy Sam used to be from Oomp Camp..but nows hes doin his solo shit..The label was also home of Drama..if i remember correctly...theyre on some Crunk/gangsta shit for the most part...

Khujo Goodie...Atlanta, Georgia....hes the most recent Goodie Mob member to go solo...he dropped his album after his accident...where he lost one of his legs...it was a strong album...very underground...khujo has a lota potential goin solo...so if u liked him with the Goodie Mob...or if u dont even know him...check some of his stuff...

Bigg Gipp Goodie...Atlanta, Georgia....just got done watchin his new video...Gipp got what it takes...hes got the lyrics...and hes got that commercial flare...but keeps it hard...a damn near perfect artist...

Memphis Untouchables...Memphis, Tennessee...This is Kingpin Skinny Pimps group with Ska Face Al Kapone(signed to Sic Wid It)...and The Jerk...they got three albums...its not often u get these many Memphis heavy weights together...for an album...but here it is...check it...

Koopsta Knicca...Memphis, Tennessee...Former 3-6 member...now doin it solo...pretty much sayin fuck 3-6...he had that Bone Thug...sing song style before Bone was big...thats one of the reasons 3-6 beefed with Bone too...but hes a good artist...

Taylor Boyz...Memphis, Tennessee...these are three brothers...they were all apart of The Alkatraz Ridaz with Al Kapone and Sir Vince...theyre on their own label now...still comin with that tight shit...

54th Platoon...New Orleans, Louisiana...theyre signed to Fubu's label...theyre album has production from Lil Jon...Megahertz and others...they come with more lyrics...than ur usual NO group...very tight...

Hakim...New Orleans, Louisiana...hes B.G.'s little brother...has the fire of his older brother...too...hes signed to B.G.s label too...not that B.G. is old...but if u liked B.G.s older shit....like when he was 16...then check Hakim...but even if not...hes a bright artist to peep...

Soulja Slim...New Orleans, Louisiana...an ex-No Limit soldier...hes runnin his own shit now...executive producin his album and all...still on that NO rowdy shit...but still has his personal/laid back tracks...
