The first Source awards wasn't televised so I'm not sure if it was taped. The '95 awards was the first to be televised.

Here's a link that shows every other Source award results:

damn never new eazy won a lifetime achievement award in 95.... was he alive for this?

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Nope... Deep Cover is 1992... the Chronic is early 1993 around spring time, then later that year around fall season Snoop dropped.

No, Chronic came out in 1992 December if I remember correctly.

Doggystyle came out right before thanksgiving in 1993...

The Chronic was released in late '92 but it didn't catch on to mainstream America until MTV started playing the video in early '93. BET played the video from jump but it didn't catch the attention it did until "Nuthin' But A G Thang" became a staple on MTV.
