I'm a non-American! I think I know what Americans are like, what they do, and what they know! I think my country rules and I have every right to proclaim it, and that when Americans do the same they're being jingoistic jerks! I get all my information about America from Hollywood movies and music videos. I think an ethnically diverse country the size of China and with ten times my country's population is easily generalized and stereotyped. I think American troops should go home, except the ones who are a) protecting me and/or b) infusing my local community with a lot of money and/or ... oh hell, I don't really want them to go home, I just want them to be a convenient scapegoat; I want 'em to stay right here and just not be in any way, shape or form intrusive. If I'm European I'll protest to send the Yanks home, until they threaten to move to Eastern Europe, at which point I'll protest that they're doing so to devastate our economy and punish us. If I'm on a certain Asian peninsula I'll demonstrate for them to go home, then fret about the danger they're putting us in by moving 30 miles away from the DMZ. I like to bash America because we know it will never actually lift a finger against us and generally gives us whatever assistance we need whenever it's needed, including sending its men, money and equipment to repeatedly bail us out of problems in our own back yard. I think America is bad because it spent half a century either directly protecting us or spending its money to enable that protection, sure, but there's a Republican guy from Texas in the White House who don't talk good so now America is as dangerous as Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. I'm going to have accuse America of disrupting world trade talks by passing temporary farm subsidies equivalent to a fraction of the subsidies we pay - and have paid for decades - to our own farmers, and because most people are clueless they'll believe me. I'm going to watch my country bash the crap out of America for half a century with little response, but as soon as Americans start bashing back I'm going to accuse them of being petty; I mean hell, this is the way it's always been, what gives them the right to rock the boat that was sailing so well? I'm going to look at the first signs of America's recent recession with flee, smiling and laughing that America's second extended boom in as many decades is finally coming to an end, waggling my finger and noting that my continent's economies are so strong now that we don't need the American global economic engine any more and ... what, now we're in recession too? Son of a ... damned Yanks!

Well, it was like 3 p.m. I had class from 1 to 2:30 and some friends and I stopped off at a bar for some food and drinks after class. Next thing you know, people are buying shots and stuff. Needless to say, some 3 or 4 glenlivets later I'm messed up. If you're ever up in Oregon I'll show you how it's done!
