Techs List of Cowards and Heroes
« on: April 06, 2003, 05:17:26 PM »
Coward- C Walker

Calling for the death of people and the destruction of a country, baskin in the victory of your army, yet not taking part. Hey lil puss puss, why didnt u go to war for lil Bush?

Coward- American Military

Attacking a third world country, destroyed by 12 years of sanctions.
Making sure, any Iraqi missles were destroyed before the war began.
Then proceeding to bomb them into surrender.

Heroes- Iraqi People

This is an Iraqi army that is 1/3 of the strength it was 12 years ago, yet it has still managed to put up a resistance. Not to mention having to endure weeks of the biggest air assault in history. The American people were cowering in fear from a couple of planes crashing into their buildings, yet the Iraqis have absorbed 1000x the damage and still manage to keep their head up.
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

I'm not calling for the death of anyone except those who deserve it. I want Saddam and any of his goons that oppress and torture innocent people to die. That is not a bad thing that is a good thing.

I would say the fact that American men and women are shedding bled so that people in another country can be free from tyanny and oppression is actually courageous and not cowardly.

Im not sayin Saddam is sum great guy, but is it yur job to make the judgement of who deserves to die?

American men and women are shedding blood, yes. I dont blame the troops really for the war, the government made that choice. But u still honestly think this war is about "liberating the people"? lol. Theres been a lot of unliberated people in this world that we've never gone to war for. Amazing that the Iraqi people are so high on our list of concerns. Must be that very close, personal relationship we have with the people of Iraq.  ::)

Why is it that people think you either can't liberate any nation from an evil dictator or you must liberate every single country? Why does it have to be such extremes? If you can liberate some of the nations on the planet, then surely thats better than not liberating any at all?

Im not saying that. what im saying is...that the war (despite the cute little title for it) isnt about liberating Iraqi's. If that WERE the mission, we would have tried liberating many different people. The US doesnt have some close tie with Iraq, that makes them one our close allies...which would be understandable why we would definetely want to help them. So theres OBVIOUSLY another reason why we're at war. I dont necessarily think its the US's job to liberate the world, but if we plan on taking on that role...then we cant lie to others, or to ourselves about it. We cant go to war with a specific country under the guise that we are liberating them, if that isnt the real reason. Of course we dont want to be "the bad guys", but shit...to much of the world, we've been that for a long time.
