that one was been around the world...thats my favorite puffy track and possibly my favorite east coast track of all time...dope song...

eminem definetely had an impact...i cant believe i forgot that one...that song probably had as much of an influence on hip hop as straight outta compton or fuck the police

actually he brought a lot of non rap fans to rap...just like snoop did back in 93...rap would not be the same without eminem...and while my name is wasnt exactly a quality song...it had a huge impact on hip hop and it set up other white rappers to try and make it in the game...it doesnt seem to be working...while bubba sparxxx tries to rap with a peice of straw in his mouth the good white rappers arent signed   ...but he definetely opened doors and made ppl a little more open minded...

eminem had an impact, just becasue nobody wanted to rap like him, dont mean he dint influence it,  eminem had a huge influence, a white boy, backed by dre, who can rhyme amazingly, and raps about the craziest shit,.. no impact, how many people dont know who he is, thats an impact...i think what makes an impact is a new style, doesnt matrter if it is copied by others.

Don Breezio said as much influence as N.W.A. Eminem had no influence on the music. He didn't change the way it sounds like Dre did with The Chronic or Public Enemy did with It Takes A Nation Of Millions. All he did was break sales records, win countless awards, open doors for white rappers <--- his only influence on the music itself otherwise everything else only benefits himself.

Impact and influence are different.

i said as much of an influence...i didnt say the same way...and in a way it is like that...he brought gangsta rap like that into white suburban neighborhoods and scared the shit out of parents...thats what NWA did too...

Gangsta rap was already brought into the suburbs 10 years ago. How can you have influence if it has already been done?

1988 - Hip hop was still young in the mainstream and gangsta rap has just recently been originated by Schoolly D and Ice-T a few years prior but does not get heard in the suburbs by the majority. NWA comes out with Straight Outta Compton and catches the ear of the suburbs.

1993 - The Chronic and Doggystyle bring it to a bigger mainstream level so everyone by now knows what gangsta rap is.

1999 - Gangsta rap is the biggest selling type of hip hop for many years already. Eminem drops "My Name Is". How is he introducing gangsta rap to the suburbs when it has been the most popular form of hip hop for nearly a decade?
