Thus, Pakistan suffered from three disadvantages: It had gone through a decade of democratic bad governance, a drought, and spent a greater portion of its income on Defence. One would have expected Pakistan's economic situation to deteriorate in 2001 in comparison to India. But the Asian Development Outlook, published by the Asian Development Bank, gives us the exact opposite picture. Am I justified??
