MPEG Codec.

Hi,

Ive just got send a Mpg file from a friend but it seems that I cant open the file because it says Im missing some codecs so then I downloaded all possible codecs for Real Player & still it cant play the file! What codec or software should I get to get this file played?

Its could be SVCD.  Try installing an MPEG2 codec from here http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tools#Codecs or install dvd playing software - powerdvd windvd etc as they include an svcd compatible codec.

Yeah, and if you wonder what codec is needed for a certain file you downloaded, you can put it into the program "AVIcodec" and it'll tell you what you need.
It also tells you what codecs you have installed, and what version they are.
