David Banner - MTA 2: Baptized In Dirty Water

I finally got this. It's hot. Banner came through again on the production tip. Some dope features from Twista, T.I., Bun B, 8-Ball, Lil Flip, and others. Still gotta give it more listens to see if it's as good as Mississippi The Album.

Dizzee Rascal - Boy In Da Corner

I was sleeping on this for a minute. Heard real good things, but kept sleeping. Now that I've finally peeped it. All I gotta say is  :o This cat is on some other shit. Straight up, a great album. He's not very complex, but comes with some dope lyricism. Good concepts. The Beats are crazy on this.

Messy Marv - Disobayish

Heated! Messy came with it as usual. But, this was a very well rounded album. Has some good commercial appeal, but will never make much noise outside of the Bay. Features from E-40, Yuk, Rich The Factor and some other people. Rick Rock produced a couple tracks on it, too. Of course, it features the diss to Obie Trice. Hot album.

Cypress Hill - Til Death Do Us Part

Of course this won't top any of their first 3 albums, but it was still a damn good album. Muggs handled most of the production, with Alchemist and Fred Wreck helping out a little. Just an array of sounds, not just the signature dark Cypress sound. Very few features on the album, mainly just Sen Perro and B-Real ripping the mic. I dig that.

Yak Ballz - My Claim

I was expecting some spaced out emcee based on his name, but he suprised me. Very street oriented, like most of the ECC/Weathermen. Nice beats and concepts. His flow is a little off from time to time, but for the most part he's good. I'm gonna finally have to Weathermen's album. Really, the production is the main reason I dig this album. Not bad.

Lil Flip - U Gotta Feel Me

Really, this album could've been one disc. First disc had 12 songs, second disc had 9. It was still a real good album. Flip picked some very hot beats, from the likes of David Banner to The Heatmakers. Gotta love it. He got Cam'Ron, Jim Jones, Ludacris, Pastor Troy, Killer Mike, Baby D, Three Six Mafia and others on the album, too. He holds his own with all of them. "Game Over" is killing em right now. That song is hot as hell. The album was strong.

Pastor Troy - By Any Means Necessary

After Universal fucking up his first major release(Face Off) and pushing him towards a more commercial style(Universal Soldier), PT Cruiser finally comes back to his old ways. Rowdy Hip Hop like only the true King of Crunk can do. 13 tracks with only features on the second half. Juvenile, 8-Ball, Lil Pete and a few others. "Ridin' Big" is sick. He used the same sample 3-6 Mafia used for "Test My Gangsta" that shit was hard. "Benz" is a remake of Whodini's "Freinds," real hot. I'm feeling this album.

The albums in my sig well, I don't even need to add them to this list. They're all heated.

I've been looking for those ^^^ esp. Dizzee Rascal, heard good things bout him, I've been downloading like a madman this month everything in my sig I got this month.

Kanye West- College Dropout
What more can I say that hasn't been said here already??

N*E*R*D*- Fly or Die
Not really a flat out hip hop album and it's tight as fuck!  This is definitely something different I've been looking for lately.  Very pleased with this album.

Norah Jones- Feels Like Home
I love her voice, it's something like Sade, it's a really chill CD, like someone else said on here it is good background music or something to sleep to.  Although some tracks sound kinda country IMO it's still a good album

Dilated Peoples- Neighborhood Watch
Damn! all I got to say about this, it's an album that sounds different everytime you listen to it, definitely feelin it!

Talib Kweli- Beautiful Struggle
Talib came correct on this even though it isn't mastered it is still hard.  Lyrically this is the best CD I've heard all year, another banger from Talib definitely gonna cop this legally whenever it drops.

N*E*R*D* - Fly Or Die: dope as hell...perfect album to just sit and chill to

J-Kwon - Hood Hop: has some really good tracks and some really weak tracks...good album for bumping while driving.

Knoc-Turn'Al - The Way I Am: not usually my style of albums...i've never really been into the westcoast gangsta shit that much...but i really like this album...some dope ass tracks.

Carl Thomas - Let's Talk About It: better than his first album imo...some really good tracks...definetely worth the money (even though i downloaded it lol)

Usher - Confessions: usher is one of the few artists that can consistently put out dope songs...i love this album just as much as i loved 8701...although it still doesnt top my way.

Talib Kweli - Beautiful Struggle (Advance): great album...could do without a few tracks but has some of the best material i've ever heard from kweli.

Lil Flip - U Gotta Feel Me: downloaded but havent listened yet...heard it was good though

a few others i've bought recently:

David Banner - MTA2: Baptized In Dirty Water - Dope
Kanye West - College Dropout - Dope
Common - Resurrection - I think we all know the answer to this
Eamon - I Don't Want You Back - Decent

I'm gonna have to peep that Kweli.

I also checked out the Madvillain album. That's Madlib on the beats and MF Doom on the mic. I thought it was weak. I don't dig Madlibs productions. Doom is aight on the mic.

But, peep Dizzee Rascal. This cat is on another tip.

You know, I never peeped the first N.E.R.D. album, should I check that out? I was thinking of checking out this new one, until I read those two clowns from Good Charlotte were on it.

It's not about pride. I can't stand the guys. I hate their songs. But, I'll check it because I dug the Clones album. I'm interested in seeing what new sounds they got.

Don't check just one or two Dizzee Rascal songs. Check the entire album. He's not West Coast, Southern, East Coast, Mid West, nothing like that. He's English.

I wanted to check that out and give MF Doom one more chance cause I've seen some amazing reviews (5/5 & 9/10) but I've only seen the promo on mIRC.  This is MF Doom's last chance, Operation Doomsday is a "classic" I've heard but I don't see it as anything special at all so maybe this can change my mind.
Herb Quote Of The Year[/u]

CalebOhio: I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

I had that album. Actually made a thread about it. It was good the first listen. But, after a while, it just lost it's essence. Same goes for MF Grimm. I give him and Madlib props on the creativity and originality, but that's where it stops.

props on these. "Mississippi" was a straight classic and "Mta 2" is quite dope too, even tho not like his 1st one. As for Dizzee I thought i was the only one feelin him on this board...i got the album a couple months ago and shit's really :o . it's like hiphop mixed with uk garage sound and the result's tight as fuck

sum cd's i got this month...

Kanye west - The College Dropout

Didn't get this before early march, great album, but i think everybody on here has heard that by now, so i ain't gonna review it

The Coup - Party Music

Political rappers, kinda similar to dead prez who are also featured on one song. I really like The Coup even tho i think "Kill My Landlord" was better this cd features a few quite original songs and skillful lyricism. apart from that i got it new for about 5$

Blackstar

I'd had this on my pc for long but i finally found an OG. I like this more than "Train Of Thought" and "Quality", the beats are not really catchy but the album grew on me more and more over months and lyrically it's on a level 95% of all MC's would never be capable of spittin on

Royce 5'9'' - Death Is Certain

I was a bit disappointed after everybody was talkin bout how dope it is, Royce's lines are pretty dope and elaborate at times, but the production don't live up to that. Primo's beat is dope but formulatic, most of the others are aight, but nuthin special, my 2nd fav is "Something's Wrong With Him" which ain't new tho...

Kid Frost - When HelL.A. Freezes Over

I got this cuz of "Mexican Border" (classic song) and "Another Day Another Dollar", but most of the shit on there ain't quite as good. Frost's aight but slow and a lot on this album is really soft and features R'n'B choruses sum of which are better and sum worse. The last 5 (of 15) songs are all pretty superfluous, overall it ain't a bad album tho

Encore - Layover

Not bad, "Self Preservation" was a nice album and so is this one. Kinda reminds me of Madlib at times, quite jazzy and laid-back. It's a very solid album, there's no real highlights on it but then again i like pretty much every song

Blockhead - Music By Cavelight

Great instrumentals, it's the kind of album you just sit down and listen to, all the music is arranged very well. If you like anything else on Ninja Tune get this
