Spurs - Lakers (round 2)
« on: April 26, 2004, 12:38:43 PM »
this is the heavyweight bout. I have gotta say that San Antonio just looks unstoppable right now, their defense is top notch. 15 game win streak - they are just steam rolling over any team that comes their way. I hate to break all of you Laker's fans hearts. But San Antonio will regain the title again.

Spurs over Lakers 4-1

LOL, Lakers will have homecourt advantage over the Spurs....and Lakers match up better with the Spurs than they do with the Rockets...Lakers 4-2

Lets not forget, Spurs were playing Memphis, an unexperienced team who had just lost 10 of their last 11 games, and was on a 5 game losing streak before the playoffs...It'll be tough, but home-court advantage is gunna be the difference...Lakers in 6.

I don't know about that losing streak memphis was on... but they sure did look good and play their hearts out during this series (the 4-0 doesn't represent that). here are some reasons why I believe the spurs will prevail..

-Spurs defense is just too consistent for the lakers
-on the offensive end, ginobli and parker are just going to  TORCH the lakers, they are just too quick.
-Lakers do not handle the pick and roll well
-Duncan will get his 20, 10, 5
-Defensive specialist Bowen will force Kobe into tough shots (kobe will be lucky to shoot over 40%)

The Lakers have YET to prove anything to me so far this year, Kobe has impressed me and also the last game by Karl Malone. I really just cannot see ANY team beating the Spurs in a 7 game series

That's what everyone said about the Lakers during their championship runs, "I don't think anyone could beat the Lakers in a 7 game series"...look what happened last year....Spurs aren't Invincible... ::)

Wrong...Lakers led the Pacific, putting them in second place in the standings.

I think Shaq is out to prove something.  I watched an interview at halftime on ABC and he seemed real determined.  Shaq will dominate, Lakers win 4-2.

Spurs have a better record over the lakers...it doesnt matter if the lakers were number two.

Are you stupid? Yes it does matter...Lakers are number 2, Spurs are number 3...Record doesn't matter, it's what place you're in...Lakers are second place, because they led their division, and Spurs didn't...Lakers have home-court advantage...PeACe

No. 1, the other division winner is seeded No. 2 and the remaining six teams are seeded Nos. 3 - 8 according to their won-lost records. (Home-court advantage in all playoff series is determined by better won-lost record, not higher seeding.)

That's really weird...Everyone was telling me it's based on standings and not records...
