We had 3 people take their Shahada (declaration of faith) last friday prayer.  3 in just one day.  We are getting a few each month, and that's only at one masjid, and a lot of converts don't even make it out or are to shy to come to the mosque to declare their faith openly infront of hundreds of brothers.  Islam is the fastest growing religion in America and the whole world.

This is a good point. Muslims are able to freely prosehtlyze and seek converts in Christians countries. However in most Muslim countries, it is illegal to try to convert Muslims to another religion. I think the reason is pretty obvious: Christianity as a whole is the only religion capable of bringing mankind to perfect harmony with God. In my opinion it is the only true religion. In a free and open marketplace of ideas, Christianity will be proven to be superior to Islam everytime. Therefore, these countries cannot allow Muslims to be exposed to the values and fundamentals of Christianity. They are frightened by the possibility of Muslims having the  freedom to choose freely between Islam and Christianity. It is really quite sad. Perhaps if they embraced Christianity they wouldn't have all the problems they do and could instead find peace and prosperity the way we have in the west.

If the Iraqi's could profit off their oil and sell their own oil freely to the whole world without UN and United States sanctions and embargo's or without the United States proping up one government (Hussien), using him to destabalize Iran, and then overthrowing him;  If America would leave them alone they could experience peace and prosperity.

Before the 20th Century, the colonization period of Britian and the neo-colonialism of America, Islamic nations experienced hundreds of years of peace and prosperity.  When Muslims controlled Spain in the middle ages it was the hieght of civilization in Europe, the most prosperous country in the West.  Under the Muslims, minority groups like the Jews were able to experience their golden age in art and literature.

As far as today's current hangups, it is like the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him has said, "The Kings and Rulers have been given the life of this world and we have been left the paradise of the hereafter, so fear not."
