I'm not deffending Saddam or anythin but he did what he had to do to maintain controll of the country. you NEED fear to controll these ppl , i mean hell where the fuck was Moktada al Sadr when Saddam was in power? he WAS IN IRAN SCARED SHITTLESS OF SADDAM, where is he now that he got a little space to move around? trying to take control of the country and installing a regime that would be just as bad as Saddam's.

PPL in Iraq aren't ready for democraty because they still have the "if i vote for something and it doesn't happen , i'm gonna pick up a gun and make it happen" mentality  
there is a HUGE possibility of an IRAQI CIVIL WAR in the next few years because whoever won't get his way will start shit for no reason , THEN when they start killing each other they'll be calling the international community to come help install peace (they'll be calling on the same ppl they were killing).... and the same can be said about all the middle eastern countrys
