Scott Storch angry at the grammy nominations

Scott Storch has a bone to pick with the Grammy committee. The super-producer, who was named Billboard's number one Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop producer of 2005, feels he was snubbed in the Producer of the Year category for the 48th annual Grammy Awards.

The Producer of the Year nominees for the Feb. 8 ceremony in Los Angeles are the Neptunes, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Danger Mouse, Nigel Godrich, and Steve Lillywhite.

"I was extremely disappointed to find I was not nominated, and even more so when I saw the list of nominees," said Storch.

Last year, the veteran producer opened the first 20 weeks of the year with back-to-back number one hits—Mario's "Let Me Love You" and 50 Cent's "Candy Shop," featuring Olivia. "Candy Shop" went on to become the number one ringtone of 2005.

Storch ended the year strong with Chris Brown's "Run It!" which held the number one spot on the singles chart for five weeks, as well as five songs on Billboard's Hot 100 Year End songs chart.

Overall, Storch produced 13 hit singles that were released in 2005.

Although he said he isn't trying to disregard the nominees, Storch feels it's hard to justify some of the names when looking at the big picture.

Three of the candidates (Danger Mouse, Godrich and Lillywhite) have one or two albums credited to their names for the entire year, said Storch, adding that Jam and Lewis have worked with many artists but have not had as many 2005 number ones as Storch.

Not a big fan of storch but to me 13 hit singles deserves a nomination at least.

storch is a straigh biter but talented as fuck, has has no real unique creativity about him is the problem, he worked with dre, got himself a dre sound, keeping it clean and crisp and making sure his melody is banging, and some effects in the background, then he went with timbo for a while, learnt to copy his drum patterns and and some other timbo ideals then went off with liljon, took he bassline and southside drumbeat pattern and some other shit.........

he like a lil bit of everyone......who produces dope beats but will never be any of the three named above, he needs to find himself.....if he can

peace

he doesnt deserve a grammy, his "music" doesnt expand past a 1 bar synth loop and a  drum pattern. it bangs good, but the shelf life of his songs are about 3 months

Hittman is not a real person. He was a computer program generated by Dr. Dre and Mel Man back in the mid 90's. When Dre started treating Mel-Man like shit, Mel infiltrated the computer and put a virus in the hittman program

Scott is at the peak of his success but he has never been so inconsistent, seems like he doesn't put work in some of his beats. C'mon that Chamillionaire sounds so unprofessionnal, I'm pretty sure I can do that beat on my PC. Plus the thing I don't like is his drums, they usually don't hit hard. Should stick to play keys coz he's amazing at that  8)

He's a weak producer, that's why. Very weak for that matter.

How can he question for instance Dangermouse's nomination, when he produced the entire Gorillaz album (extremely dope) and the Dangerdoom (solid). It takes a lot more skill to mold the sound of a whole album, than it does to produce a load of singles, and its quite obvious a whole album produced by Storch would get boring real quick. His only beat that I could listen to more than a couple of times without being extremely annoyed was the Mario track, other than that all his other stuff is plain annoying, shitty synth sounding crap.

As a producer, Storch is aight. But I'd rather hear him play keys on a Dre beat that's mixed properly. Storch beats sound dry most of the time. He does bite quite a lot. "Run It" sounds like a Lil Jon production, while "Turn It Up" sounds like he jacked elements of Fat Joe's "Live My Lifestyle" beat.
